But a poster over at ISD just took a new job in San Diego, apparently in the same office as Blake Barnett's sister. She confirmed that he will be verbaling to Kelly on Saturday during their meeting.

The said poster has a solid track record of being down to earth, but is not staff.

I tend to believe this, but I don't know why.

One thing I like about Blake Barnett is his football abilities. As one QB expert allegedly said, he is the best QB out of all of the 2014 and 15 prospects. I like that. Ability is one of the first things I look for in a prospect.

One thing I don't like about him is that he is not currently committed to Notre Dame. It's great that he may commit this weekend, but until then, I am going to hold that one against him.

Summary:
Strengths: Quarterbacking
Weaknesses: Not committed to ND

He definitely needs to improve there.

If he doesn't fix that... then 2/10... do not want...

The signs kind of do point to this though...

yeah seemed like the writing was on the wall when a CA kid takes two unofficials almost within one month and the second one includes both parents who are separated if i am remembering correctly.

I imagine this visit is pretty expensive, considering he's bringing his family with him. I feel like he wouldn't bring everyone and spend that much on a visit if it wasn't significant.

Will be ND's qb commitment for 2015. Kelly thought Blake was a senior when he saw his film and wondered why there wasnt an offer for Blake. They think 2015 class could be very special. Per BGI

:s::s::s::s: #8 OT (.9499) | Tillery
:s::s::s::s: #1 OC (.9752) | Hoge
:s::s::s::s: #15 QB (.9000) | Barnett (100% chance this rating doesn't stick.)

I'd say so.

With Barnett verballing early, maybe we can finally get a top-tier, elite, Treadwell-esque WR in this '15 class.

So I leave for a week, and Tranquill commits, Nyles Morgan sets up a surprise visit for a low key game, and Barnett is put on commit watch?

You guys need to ban me more often!

Yea, he told Loy a week or so ago that those were just rumors. Hogs probably commits shortly after his Florida visit.

Would be crazy to have the potential #1 qb locked up this early. It has to help exponentially for other offensive player recruiting in this class.

Now think about this...if we get a top 5 QB and Jashon. MOMENTUM. But this of course is our recruiting wet dream.

Nice looking athletic QB, but having a rough night. Fumble, hyperextended left knee on last play of half only to return and throw a pick on the first series of the third compounded by a late hit penalty for a late hit on the return.

Threw a bad pick that led to a TD by Upland...and then came back with a really good TD pass where he juked a defender that came in untouched and then threw a perfect pass on the run (moving full speed to his left) for a TD. He's down 7 now.

But just pulled his best Mariotta impression with a 35 yd TD pass after scrambling.

Lost by 1 on a missed extra point after scoring what would have been the tying TD. Barnett looked pretty good. Had a fumble and a pick…but also threw two TD's and ran in another. I was impressed with his athleticism and he has a big arm.

Ummm young Kap? I love Kap but are we talking young Kap as a Niner last season? Young Kap early NV days? Young Kap senior year NV? Young Kap this year as a Niner?

Again, I love Kap and I am here in Niner Nation. (He is a big reason I like the Niners) but I understand he has been growing ALOT the last few years. What Kap we talking?

FYI, i don't really care too much about comparisons. He is a JR in HS and has a lot of time to develop. He could become a bust or he could grow into the next best thing. I am just glad we are towards the top on this one. I liked his film for a young leader!

I try not to compare kids to other players because I don't really know too much about film and evaluating players. I do enjoying how you all do this. However, there are two players this year that reminded me of others: Hood = Hershel Walker; and Barnett total took me back to watching Kaepernick as a sophomore at Nevada. Awkward motion, gazelle strides.
So I totally agree with this guy's tweet. Give him two years to develop.
