Didn’t see today’s game but that pass he threw in OT against the Packers was one of the worst throws and worst decisions I’ve ever seen a QB make. Unfortunately after this season Kizer will probably just be another ND QB bust.

Cleveland doesn't kill QBs, that's lazy ass half fan talk... Cleveland has just been terrible at drafting quarterbacks... meaning they constantly take the wrong guy.

JFF would have been a disaster in New England ... thing is NE never would have drafted him,... or Weeden, or DK... and on and on.

How long are they gonna keep a HC employed that is staring a 0-16 record in the face and is 1-28 as a head coach? They fired Sashi Brown as if he was the guy coaching the players, calling the plays, and was the root of all problems. I understand that he is the one that is probably responsible for the AJ McCarron debacle. Hue Jackson is way more responsible for the 1-28 than Sashi Brown was.

He actually spent one year (2011) as the head coach of the Raiders, where he went 8-8 after starting 7-4 and was fired by Al after the season. Which makes him 9-36 (.200) as a head coach.

EDIT: Also, lol@jersey. Very Cleveland chic.

This is why Hue Jackson needs to go. Starts DeShone week one only to bench him a few weeks later. Starts him again and says he'll start the whole year and now he tells the media he might bench him before even talking to the player. What is he trying to accomplish? If he's trying to win a game why not bring in a veteran QB instead of guys who have never played? If he's trying to develop a QB, stick with him and don't play games with benching and starting him.

I never though Kizer was ready to go to the NFL, but had he gone to a team like Pittsburgh and sat behind Ben for a year or 2 (hope 3 or 4) He may have panned out. Look at players like Garoppolo, the 49ers were just as bad as the Browns 4 weeks ago. Now they won 3 or 4 in a row and JG looks like a straight up gamer. It looks like sitting behind Brady for 3 years worked wonders. Too bad, Quinn Clausen, and Kizer didn't have the same luck as players like Rodgers, Brady, Warner, Romo, Hasslebeck, Young, Schaub.

Do you think a QBs situation (HC, OC, players around them, etc...) plays a role in their ultimate success? If so, how much? I think it’s very important to the QB position. Certain positions it really doesn’t matter. Sure, the Browns have chosen poorly when it comes to QBs but the same can be said for their choice of coaches, GMs, players, etc.

I’m not sure what the percentage is but I think Kizer would have had a much better chance of being successful at Pittsburgh than Cleveland.

Yes it plays a role... absolutely. I also don't think Cleveland has had something in the water that makes their situation worthy of these stupid comments. They've had decent teams that needed a QB in the past, hell they were sitting at 7-4 in the playoff hunt just three years ago. Their biggest issue has been the draft particularly with QB. The situation isn't beyond that to where if they had got Garoppolo instead of SF he'd be a complete disaster here. Cleveland would probably have five or so wins at this point with just average play at QB. Again, many of these draftees would have been a disaster anywhere, unfortunately it was Cleveland who was stupid enough to make these picks.

In fairness I don't think it's over for DK, he's super young and has shown more flashes than I thought he would but, the bad has so far outweighed everything else. I'm just so fuckin sick of it all. Take Rosen and Barkley, sign some free agent DBs and actually make a run at the division in 2019. That should be realistic.

That is a nice situation. If they feel like he’s developing after a year, he’s the heir.

He couldn’t have found a better spot to land after one year. He got meaningful minutes and knows what the nfl is about now he gets sometime to slow it down with the best in the game and develop. I am a bears fan so this looks like the next QB I’m going to have to watch kick our ass in the future. Not if Mr Biscuit has anything to say about it!

Not to mention Rodgers always seems to miss a game or two due to injury.

Thankfully we appear to have a competent offensive (and defensive) coaching staff for the first time in 30 years.

Don’t know how long he will sit behind Rodgers but at least as a backup there he will be on a winning team.

As a Browns and ND fan I am happy for Kizer. He needs to sit and learn a couple years. He threw some of the worst passes in NFL history last year.
