It was more tongue-in-cheek about your history of questioning his info lol. Didn't mean to offend either of you.

I never question his info, only his reasons for giving us hope without explanation.

But to both of you, it's all good :).

It is hard to compete with a place when it's up the road from home, the team he grew up rooting for, his uncle is on the staff, he can play right away and there's a new coach with lots of positive energy. Good on our staff for keeping it this close.

Maybe it's the positive vibes from our newest commit, but I'm not sure we don't get him. If he's such a lock for USC why hasn't he committed?

That's something I keep wondering about too, but he could just truly be thinking about blazing his own path. If so he would want to make sure USC is his path instead of a family members. Trying to distinguish the two can be really tough when you are that age.

A fair point. He seems like a serious, thoughtful kid who's trying to do this the right way. And that way might yet lead him to South Bend. I'm just saying it was an uphill battle from the start and I wouldn't view it as some kind of failure if he picks USC. But who knows.

Yeah, this is what Loy was saying earlier. Plus, Juju isn't a guy like McKenzie who revels in the recruiting process. So I think it's a good point.

Of course. Not sure why anyone would be confident about his recruitment.

I agree. I am usually an optimist when the situation presents itself, but here I am willing to bet all my vbucks (I know it's not much...but it's something) that he ends up at USC. We are wasting our time and energy here. JMO of course.

I remember a time when a certain 5 star LB, the #1 defensive recruit in his class, was considered a lock for USC on NSD and he shocked the world when he announced his commitment to ND. Not saying that will happen again but until JuJu commits to USC, I think ND has a decent shot.

Even if/when he goes to SC, I will always be a fan of this kid. As other people have been saying, he seems like a genuinely thoughtful, high character guy. From what I hear, USC has a very large and active campus ministry program, it's not like he's renouncing his faith or something if he chooses USC. There's nothing wrong with choosing your hometown/childhood school.

As I've mentioned before, I'm particularly impressed that he's not on twitter. That shows a great deal of humility, which frankly many of our own recruits don't possess. I'm a high school teacher, and I wish a lot more of my own students didn't feel the need to be on social media like that.

Per a USC student who ran into both Juju and Damian Mama on their OV's a couple of hrs ago, they both L-O-V-E USC big time and are expecting to be Trogans when all is said and done. And yes, this student is legit and his info is almost 100% spot on.

Not that any of this is news of course, but just thought I'd share because a few people are still holding out hope, and as ND fans the last thing we should ever have during recruiting season is hope!
