question to everybody how much better do you think AQM is than Deon Hollins Jr.?

AQM's composite score is .9660, which makes him a high 4
prospect. Hollins' composite score is .9192, which equates to a low 4. So the recruitniks think there's a pretty significant disparity.For me, the biggest difference is versatility. AQM could potentially bulk up and play DE for us, while Hollins would be a pure ROLB.

Hollins seems like he is a great athlete, but we are already stacked at linebacker in this class, whereas we really only have Rochell and maybe Matuska on the D-line.
In my opinion, you can never have too many athletes on the d-line and Muhammad looks like he could be a real difference maker as a DE in a couple years if he bulks up a bit.
So looking at it that way, I think it's a no-brainer we need to push for AQM as hard as we can. He's my #1 want left on the board.

Interesting question... the thing is they are both pass rushers but they are very different players.
Hollins is a Shembo clone. Not especially long, but powerful and explosive rushing the passer. Great bull rusher.
AQM is also explosive, but he is lean, long and fast, with freakish athleticism (watch his tape and check out his downfield INT ... just a sick play), and importantly, he has the frame to put on weight and play DL. The staff thinks they can use him as a CAT early in his career, then bulk him up into a DE a la KLM. Hollins doesn't appear to have that kind of frame.
So how much better is he ... I would put it like this: AQM is not much better at the things they are both able to do. As pure pass rushers, they might be equal. Hollins might even be better (although that's a pretty bold statement, considering the difference in their rankings that Whiskey pointed out). The issue is that AQM has the capability to do things that Hollins cannot do. Since we are light on the DL and AQM can fill in there down the line, he is a significantly better prospect for us.
Side note: It seems to me that the staff likes this strategy of using a guy at an outside position early, then shifting him inside as he gains strength. That's basically what they did with Kona, and appears to be the plan for Springmann.

You get enough studs for the DL, then you can rotate them frequently keeping them fresh which negates a team like Bama's biggest strength (OL).

I do find this situation very interesting. We bring in prevot and hollins for the same weekend and say what? We want one of you and whoever takes this spot has it first. Do u put them both in a room and let them say not it first. I know that's a terrible analogy but I'd love to know how they plan to go about this.
I look at it this way...
Kelly is giving both of them a chance to get on campus. He has them visit on the same day so one of them will be pressured into committing almost right away because Prevot doesn't want Hollins to take the last spot or vice versa
I don't think they have them visit on separate weekends so they can use the pressure technique.
If that makes any sense...
