I don't really care. I was simply relaying a message from a guy that has been spot on with Folston to this point.

Well to be fair, your initial post was pretty ambiguous, as it implied you were hearing the information and not simply relaying it from a source.

Never claimed to be an insider. Simply relay information if its not hit this site.

You may not of made a claim, but any post worded like this:

Hearing that the biggest hold up is his father. His father wants him to go to Alabama and play defense. Folston himself wants to play offense at ND. Will be interesting to see how it pans out.

seems to me to imply that you yourself are hearing it from your own source. Just my opinion, but could have avoided the confusion by simply stating it was relayed information from a poster on ISD initially.

Skeptical of this, but if it's true, quick fix: put Folston's dad in touch with Bryant's dad.

I know for a fact Bama is not recruiting Folston.

Yeah I haven't heard anything connecting Folston and Bama either, so I think you are right, but just curious, do you really know it for a fact that Bama isn't recruiting him? Do you know Folston, or a Bama coach? Not trying to be a smart-***; just asking because if you are basing your opinion on what you've heard in the recruiting media, then it may not be a fact, as sometimes stuff does fly under their radar ... think of the Jamel James commitment. None of us had even heard of Jamel.

Fair enough, I'll keep it in mind moving forward

Someone with close ties to Bama staff.

Boy, do I love that response. So many times I see this type situation devolve into fellow ND fans getting all insulting and ornery w/ each other! Reps for taking the feedback from a Sr. guy and running w/ it!!

Assuming Irish Man 3's info from the other message board is correct, and dwshade's info is correct as well, doesn't mean Folston's dad doesn't want his kid to play defense for Alabama.

Other than the poor degree, and being totally biased for ND, I wouldn't be too upset at all if my kid played defense for Saban.

I'd rather my unborn child play defense for Bob Diaco... but chances are he will be 5'11'', white and slow.

Are any of the schools that we KNOW are recruiting Folston recruiting him for defense?

Very encouraging update from II regarding Folston:

He is announcing at the UA game on 1/5, and does not have another visit planned for this weekend (the only weekend he can go anywhere before then). His only visits to places that have the same coaching staffs intact are ND and Oregon, and we know that Chip is in the air.

He also is not bothered at all by the Bryant commitment - in fact his HC thinks he actually might have liked it by citing his love for competition and the fact that it is now a world of 2 back offenses.

UA game Jan. 4th, the website is still for 2012, I screwed that up earlier too, not that it really matters.

Their update had it as the 5th, so I just went with that. Thanks though for the clarification.

Oregon hasn't even offered Folston?

Gosh, I assumed it had, but both 247 and our IE profile show that Oregon has not offered him. On the other hand, Rivals shows that Oregon has offered him.

I wonder if he has a non-committable offer? Oregon already has Tyner and (for now) Dontre Wilson so a third RB can't be a super high priority for them.

No matter how you look at it, things look good for us.

Man I would love to get both Folston and Bryant. Two talented dudes with chips on their shoulders because they are the RBs that Florida schools forgot about. Love it.
