DaVaris Daniels, duh.

Is this the new cursed number?

Who else was #10 that didn't work out? Crist didn't (although his issues were always on the field).

I have to go back to Brady to remember a #10 that stood out. I'm sure I'm forgetting someone.

Props to whoever said that they should give his scholarship to Chris Finke. Pretty sure it just happened.

Props.

Just my own opinion, but Max is a good looking kid usually smiling. Given that plus he was an outstanding HS athlete, I wonder how many passes he's gotten over the years? Maybe never anything super serious, but enough mischief that probably more than once, he's been lectured and then told not to do it anymore. He finally reached the end of the line where BK is man enough to tell him he's done getting free passes.

I know Bob Johnson (his coach at Mission Viejo) personally and you don't know how close you probably are on this. I know of more than a few discipline cases that good ol' Bob got through the system because they could play ball.

koon-how many members of your bod squad are still on the team? I think it is time you officially retire that designation...

You have got the be kidding me????

Even without the suspension... makes no sense. Does McShay even watch tape?

He would have been a 4 year player and 3 year starter right?

There aren't too many of those year in year out at the major P5 level.

Now, in no way am i saying his actually on field production would merit that high of a grade.

But his physical tools check all boxes and the playing time is there. How he performed this year would have been huge factor in his eventual draft grade.

No desire or want is ever worth possibly sacrificing the incredible opportunities at Notre Dame on and off the field, in and outside the classroom. I will continue to learn from my mistakes and vow to never be defined by the few mistakes I have made in my life. Being separated and alienated from my teammates, coaches, fans and more is a burden I am ready to bear although it hurts profoundly every second I think about it or it is brought to my attention. Well said but it should've been time to show and not talk. But we get more talk.

At ND, even the gun totting, exiled players are eloquent.

Though disappointed, I still wish him the best of luck in life going forward.

He seems like a pretty bright kid that maybe had a rough childhood or negative influences in his life. I hope he gets his shit together and can play somewhere next year, and hopefully make it to the league one day.

I'm happy to read that. I'd be even happier to hear he graduates with distinction and does something to earn his way back on the team for a fifth year or goes somewhere else for a fifth year.

He's too damn athletic to let that be the last we saw of him. I really hope this is a life-changing experience rather than lip service.

I've been through some stuff in my life. I know that feeling of deep regret and it sucks. Let's hope he can turn his life around. He has to live the rest of his life knowing he blew his senior year playing football at Notre Dame and his chance to play in the NFL. Let's hope he graduates and plays somewhere next year and makes that happen.
