Here's my final thoughts:
1. I can't believe Mora & Co. so effectively executed this. I'm kind of shocked, awed, and impressed... but more I just hope he has some embarrassing scandal and never coaches again, because I flat out don't like people like him and think that they harm college sports. The guy is in the Kiffin/Meyer/Butch Davis mold of human beings, IMO.
2. It's really, really hard for me to have any ill will at all towards Eddie. At the end of the day, he was a NSD commit who then in a rather complex situation and series of events changed his mind. He then went through the NCAA process, and now has a resolution. He hasn't said anything disparaging about ND in public (that I know about at least) and has, overall, handled the situation publicly in a reasonable way. So best of luck to him.
3. The NCAA is just... wow. Clearly, the burden for appeals is verrrrry low. It's also incredibly subjective and inconsistent. Between their lack of enforcement towards cheaters, lack of consistency, lack of leadership, etc. I just lose more faith in them every day. It's as if they really only exist for legal protection of the colleges and running championships... and everything else to do with the actual governance of the schools and student athletes is handled by a kangaroo court that no one really cares about.
So Mora & Co. gets a big eff you from me. Eddie gets a disappointed sigh and a pat on the back. And the NCAA gets a derisive SMH.
