personally i don't think that EV is coming to USC i hope he does but ive come to grips he might be UCLA's to lose. His off-season trainer i dont know his name but he has UCLA ties an for a while the only media he has been talking to is UCLA reporters so take that for what it's worth. BTW from what i've been seeing on twitter BK is announcing ND recruiting class 8 hours before EV makes his choice whereas Mora and Kiffin are waiting until after he does. Idk if that means anything your coach is just announcing because of the time difference or what but take thats for what it's worth. I have no idea where this kid will land he hasn't tipped his hat once you guys UCLA an Bama thinks he's yours most of us SC fans think he's all UCLA.

LA might not be his hometown but a plane ride from that area to LA is maybe a few hundred bucks and about a 7 hr trip if they drive. His family could easily see all his home games at UCLA, but idk if that would be possible for ND. I think that is the "staying home" part.

some of yall are over analyzing the LA/SoCal. We are talking about an 18 year old kid. Its a pit stop for him. To be honest, im shocked UCLA isnt the hot bed for college football. You walk off usc's campus you are in a neighborhoods that you just dont wanna be in. UCLA you walk off campus its nice.

All I was saying earlier was that people that do their due diligence have stated ucla is the team to beat. As someone stated, I doubt many really know where he is going including Eddie himself.

New update on II. Pete is hearing it's 50-50 between UCLA and ND. Bama is running third.

I don't think we could ask for anything more at this point. If we're running even with a staff that has been at this kid a lot longer than us, there's obviously something extremely significant pulling EV in our direction.

TP has it exactly correct when he suggests that Eddie himself doesn't yet have a destination selected. I think anybody (even the so-called analysts) who declares that they know where he is leaning is full of hot air. EV might be leaning to UCLA at breakfast and Notre Dame at lunch. All that matters is where he is leaning when he goes all in on Wednesday. He could sign a LOI with any of his favorites.

Take it from someone who has made this mistake - don't fall too in love with any recruit and get too wrapped up in whether they pick your school or not. You'll get your heart broken. If you get him, great. If you don't, don't worry about it. No program is made or not made by a single recruit. Consider him icing on the cake, not the cake itself.

This coming from a guy whose favorite school brings in an annual class of approx 28.

Eddie just retweeted this a few hours ago. Surely it means he and Fitts will be Irish. :)

Means nothing, he always RT stuff like that, no matter if it is about ND, USC, Bama or UCLA.

Has absolutely no bearing on anything. Schools all the time have announcements before or after their prospects pick... late stragglers then usually get an individual press release w/ coaches quotes. Happens every year.

I always thought it could be any of the three and I'm not surprised UCLA might have cemented themselves as the favorite as it's the "easiest" and/or most "comfortable" choice... plus he has external pressures on going there. But I really don't think he's made a final choice yet so there's still a solid chance at him ending up somewhere else..

I know some have been banging on JC Shurburtt lately but he is on Bill King's show right now and said that USC folks think he will sign with UCLA.

JC was far less certain and said ultimately it depends on if he wants to leave the west coast. If he stays out west JC think it will be UCLA. If he leaves the west coast, he thinks ND has the edge.

One interesting opinion from JC was that he said if he personally was rating the 2013 class, he would rate EV as #2 overall in the nation.

FYI Three other Placer football players are announcing tommorow and the ceremony starts at 5 for all of them, aka if Vanderdoes announces last which he probably is out of the three it would be well past 5:15 (start of UCLA's presser).

The presser starting right around Vanderdoes announcement is just a coincidence

Every time I see a photo or video clip of Eddie's I think of Chris Zorich. Not having quite as tight of a midsection as Zorich, I believe Vanderdoes will be wearing his Notre Dame jersey tucked in!
