Dont count out SC on this kid. Play 1 year with Lattimore, then he becomes the stud. And Spurrier still knows how to sell kids on his program.

Oh well we can't let this stop us. We all knew it was a slim chance he was going to come here. I wish him luck but for us lets turn the page.

Are our current commits not good enough for you? Dorial never considered ND and Marshall appeared to be a long shot.

ND is still in the discussion for a lot of elite talent. Just because they are not the best rated at their position doesn't mean they are no good.

Keith cares about academics, huh? Let's compare the value offered by ND, UF, UGA, Clemson, SCar, and UNC.

Graduation Success Rate for Black Football Players:
ND- 100% (1st in BCS*)
UF- 75% (12th in BCS)
UNC- 68% (19th in BCS)
UGA- 63% (26th in BCS)
Clemson- 55% (41st in BCS)
SCar- 32% (70th, dead last in BCS)

30 year Return for Graduates:
ND- $1,623,900 (2nd in BCS)
Clemson- $922,300 (29th in BCS)
UF- $919,800 (31st in BCS)
UNC- $777,100 (49th in BCS)
UGA- $749,600 (56th in BCS)
SCar- $535,300 (70th, dead last in BCS)

Expected 30 year Return for Black Football Players:
ND- $1,623,900 (1st in BCS)
UF- $689,850 (14th in BCS)
UNC- $528,428 (32nd in BCS)
Clemson- $507,265 (36th in BCS)
UGA- $472,248 (42nd in BCS)
SCar- $171,269 (70th, dead last in BCS)

ND offers: (1) ~2.5x more value than UF; (2) ~3x more value than UNC; (3) 3x more value than Clemson; (4) ~4x more value than UGA; ~10x more value than SCar to black athletes.

*Rankings compare only schools with football programs in AQ conferences and schools that have made recent BCS appearances. There are a total of 70 schools ranked, so 35th is the median.

If Marshall truly cares about his education, how could he eliminate ND in favor of SCar? Academically, it's the worst football school in the nation. He's either blowing smoke about academics, or he's extremely naive and being lied to.

DGB was never in the picture.

Marshall was a pipe dream. You should not have gotten your hopes up, as I said many many times.

Recruiting is fine.

These are great stats and im sure he will think for a minute . This kids has a shot if on right team to play at next level and i'm sure he wants that chance more than anything. Those stats make a 4 star recruit think wow your right I better think it over. A five star is thinking NFL even if if he has a brain. A kid would go to Harvard or Yale if all he want was academics.

No Dorial?? Why is he even being brought up?

Like I've said before... We've got our own DGB nasty baller on the way. This class is going to round out just fine.. The staff works hard and it will pay off.

I love the guys we got don't get it wrong guys... Just saying we need RBs more than anything right now.. Let's see how we finish first then i'll give my thoughts on the class...

I could care less if we had a shot at dorial/marshall...Coaches need to get the best two talents ND needs.. With the top WR, and top RB we win national championships... Can't wait till our next NC we will land these guys, and stay on top till then we are Working uphill... Go Irish

I posted this in Shaq Powell's thread but I'll post it again her.

But we just moved 2 WRs to RB. And neither are the power RB that Mahone is.

Wood
Riddick
Atkinson
Roberson (God willing)
McDaniel
Mahone

RB is not the issue it was 2 months ago. WR is the issue. We play 3 WRs at a time but only 1 RB.

I can't believe we aren't even in his top 5. I thought we'd at least be 3 possibly 2

Well, if this is goodbye, I think that we'll survive it just fine. Cierre is plenty good and will get nothing but better. I have a hunch that Mahone will be powerful enough to play the Jonas/Hughes role immediately [if he can pick up the blitzes] and do nothing but get better. GAIII will probably surprise us with his strength to go with his speed. AND almost surely, we will have Andrew and/or Everett back there next year as a MAJOR "extra" threat. If Roberson recovers then that's one more stud. I see CamMcD shifting to slot perhaps and maybe punt returns, if we ever figure out how to block anyone. Riddick?? I wish him the best, but I ain't seen it yet.

I was surprised, pleased, but surprised we even got an OV. Hey, I wish him the best. We all make choices, we just weren't his.

Actually pretty surprised we weren't even in his top five. I thought we were 2 or 3.

Oh well, no use worrying about it now.

A ton of chatter on twitter that he might pull the shocker and pick Clemson today. They made a huge surge at the end.

Also of note UGA just offered Florida decommitted RB Mike Davis today...

Personally I still think he goes UGA.

I'd rather he go to Georgia because it'd be easier to rationalize how we lost out to him. We shouldn't have been scooped by a Clemson team that wasn't even getting real consideration until late in the process.
