Simply put Neal makes or breaks our class. We need him on so many different levels. I consider the class a success as long as we land him.

I definitely agree with this. I think getting Neal would be great for many reasons but especially because he can play both sides of the ball at a high level.

Yeah, he makes a huge difference. We got a lot of great recruits in this class but I wanted another difference-maker at both WR and CB. Neal can help at either, perhaps both.

Didnt IE hold nearly 6000 for NSD? Will it still crash or has that been permanently fixed?

My gut tells me he will be Irish tomorrow.

Then again, I had Taco Bell for lunch so it might be that

Going back to the "Recruiting Insider" clown with the picture of lil' wayne per his twitter:

@rivalsmike @osu64 It's Vice-Versa. #DavonteNeal did not decide yet. Thus #OhioState made a take it or leave offer. Per my sources.

CLOWN...

I actually with recruiting Insider on this one. OSU made a take it or leave offer and Neal chose to Leave, It wasn't OSU backing off.

Talked to my buddy who writes for Scout and he told me Neal to ND. Talked to another guy on this site who always brings the goods and he said Neal to ND.

The way I look at it Arkansas and North Carolina are out. With his dad running the show it seems and him not taking the visits to those two spots i cant see him going to either of those places. Which leads us down to Arizona and Notre Dame where most people believe he will end up. Deaths happen in family and its sucks. But his dad always said Davonte will be leaving the state to do his own thing. I think us landing Gunner Kiel might finally pay off cause who wouldn't want to play with the number 1 QB in the country. But when its down to two teams you never ever count out the home state school. ND went all out to recruit this guy and i hope it pays off for us.

Dont ask me to make a prediction cause i wont cause i have no inside info on this just sharing what i am being told. I am unsure where Davonte is headed just wanted to share with you guys what i have been informed.

Its 50/50 if you ask me.

Has anyone aside from Recruiting Insider, predicted Neal to UA?

should've highlighted the part out of that tweet that I was calling him a clown about...it was more so the fact that he hasn't decided yet...though I don't have a full transcript of the back and forth...so I don't know what was being said on the other end

Didn't he go on an official to Arkansas? His 2nd or 3rd visit was there, or so I thought? I can't remember for sure though.

He probably meant at the time OSU contacted him.

OSU fans are so funny. So far I have heard that Neal isn't good enough to play for Urban Meyer, that he was caught smoking weed on OSUs campus, and Luke Neal wanted the Newton treatment for Davonte to play at OSU.

It has to be one of those right??? I mean why else would he not commit to Urban when he flies all the way to Arizona? Freaking idiots I tell ya.

They are absolutely delusional when a recruit turns them down.

Long time reader, first time post. Just felt that I had to say something.

To call Alford overrated is to defy logic. The man recruits for a school in Indiana in an area that not only competes against the likes of Florida, Florida State, and Miami in the state, but pretty much the entire SEC and many other schools out of the state.

I know for one that many Big Ten schools, ACC schools, and a school like USC recruit the area hard. For Alford to go into a recruiting hot zone like that and pull out good prospects, luring them to Notre Dame, is an unbelievable effort in and of itself. When you combine that with some of the major jobs he's pulled, a la the Aaron Lynch recruitment, it's unbelievable that anyone would think he's a poor recruiter. And as many have said, just ask the kids he recruits.

It becomes even more obvious how important he is to the staff when you realize that out of the entire national footprint that ND has for recruiting, he is given arguably the most important and toughest assignment. Florida may be a toss up with California, but that's what the other top-notch recruiter (Denbrock) handles.

Moreover, he has the not-so-small task of recruiting kids that have at least a dozen "universities" lined up ready to offer any of the same kids an opportunity to take the easy way out and go to a school that doesn't emphasize academics in the same way. When you combine that with the fact that this is the roughest stretch in recent Notre Dame history, it's unreal that he does the job he does.

Sorry for the ranting first post, but it's shocking for some not to realize what we have. Guarantee that the ND staff doesn't under appreciate him, and you could bet that if he were to move elsewhere he'd have a top job in a heartbeat; just look at his Green Bay interview for proof of that.

I for one am glad he's at ND and hope he goes nowhere fast.
