Unless the poster on ISD is the physician dealing with Chase and he hasn't yet shared his findings with his patient, its hard for me to believe that "the guy on ISD" is going to be right on this one.

There are people sticking up for this guy (I have no idea who he is) saying that he is closer to the team then any of the ISD staff / never wrong on his info....... so........................

I have absolutely no idea.

I'm going to bed. Let me know how this works out for you. Hagen, I think you just got an extra kink in my brain trying to follow the logic of your last post; good logic, the hole was way too small. Lax I am going to rep you just for reminding me that you are one of the most honest, low ego guys on this site.

I don't know how any of that "insider stuff" works, but unless Chase is full of ****, it seems like the info is off.

Does he maybe have the seriously injured lineman confused with Carrico, and the injury itself with Collinsworth. Seems awful coincidental. Torn labrums, (I am so glad I didn't say labia, wow, I could have really embarrassed myself!) aren't that common of an injury.

It's pretty common if you've dislocated a shoulder. Hounshell had some sort of shoulder injury in the season, and reportedly had surgery after the season, which caused him to miss some of spring practice.
But it's also very fixable (I've had two labrum repairs myself). Would seem odd if they didn't just take care of it the first time and it's just coming up now.

Someone needs to go on ISD and tell them Chase is fine lol. They are in a meltdown over facts.

I will, but the guy said he checked with his sources again to be sure. They said it was done during an altercation in the weight room with an unnamed player.

He also added its not a new injury, but that his shoulder wasn't fully healed yet from last season.

Great lift. getting bigger, stronger, faster everyday.

From an hour ago. I'm no insider but I'm skeptical that the the guy who tweeted that has a torn labrum.

Yeah unless he was doing some serious calf excersizes I'm going with he's getting ready to play this year. Which is a great thing cuz he is gonna do some great things for us, I gotta feelin!

I checked with my source, who checked his source, who is the most reliable source possible. Chase is fine

I've checked with several people in Kalamazoo Michigan. They've never heard of our young superman, so they assume he is fine.

I then checked with God, and He said Chase will be a [metaphorical] killer this year on the field, and a fine young gentleman off it.

Other than that..... no infirm-ation.

I texted a guy on the team... Says he thinks chase is fine. Doesn't really confirm or deny it but he hasn't heard or seen anything at all about chase having an injury.

On Power Hour tonight, Mike Frank said he has tried to get any info on Chase. There is nothing out there. He also said it is difficult to get any info because there is no formal gathering of the people in the know.

The guy who originally posted the injury on ISD (and he is as legit as they come - his info has always been on the money) said he talked to his sources on the team and they daid that Chase was doing leg workouts this morning, and that he will still miss a majority if not all of the season. Hope he's wrong though...

IDK, it just seems odd that only one person on the internet and only the members of the team that talk to him know about the injury, and that all of the other members of the team (including Chase himself) and the people they talk to are saying its not true.

This seems like a pretty clear situation where someone is right and someone is wrong, so you kind of have to at least entertain the idea that the ISD poster is right since he is staking his reputation to this story in the face of Chase and others denying it. If Chase and other team members were instructed to deny the story, it certainly would not be the first time a team has taken a position that is not totally forthcoming about an injury situation.

Just don't really see the endgame for them denying a season-ending injury at this point since at some point its going to be obvious and other teams aren't using their summers to gameplan for Chase Hounshell anyways. Confusing situation. I'll take the kid at his word until I hear otherwise.

The only thing I can think of is the ramifications of a yearlong injury, extending a players career, which may not go over well for recruiting purposes. But even that seems a long shot . .

I think there is just a confusion of misinformation. It sounds like this "injury" happened ~3 weeks ago... and it seems like no one really knows the severity. Sometimes torn labrums are incredibly easy to play on... sometimes you can't do sh*t. I say this as someone who has torn 2 of them. What doesn't add up is that if he seriously re-aggravate or re-injured his same shoulder injury ~3 weeks ago they would have immediately put him back under the knife. If he didn't go in for surgery, then it can't have been that bad... certainly not bad enough for him to miss the next 5+ months. I'll also say that it's incredibly easy to re-aggravate a labrum repair by pushing too hard too early in the weight room or trying to soon to do any kind of explosive athletic activity w/ upper body contact.

So really here are the possible scenarios:

1) Minor set back, may be good to go by the start of the season or just a bit into it.
2) Major set back, is going to need to RS this year rather than throw him out there in a physical condition where he can't perform and risk more injury. If he doesn't RS he'll at least miss a big chunk.
3) New injury, no one really knows how long he's going to be out.

I think no one really knows at this point unless the ISD poster's source in an athletic trainer for the team... which he said it wasn't.

No injury? Seems to me if there were a significant injury, the information would be out there.

The only thing I could say to counteract that is ND is VERY tight-lipped about their info. Look at Collinsworth...he got hurt in the Spring Game and we didn't find out for months. But I hope they're wrong about Hounshell.

1. Don't you think that if ISD did some digging the answer would be a little more firm than what Mike Frank said on his radio show? I know that Pete Sampson, and a mod on Blue and Gold have squashed the rumor as well.

2. If he was going to be out, I think there would be some leaking. I mean Kelly has discussed Collinsworth who is the 2nd string safety, and Niklas who is the 4th string TE, why would he cover his DE thats in the 2 deep?

3. I'll trust what I was told on the basis that, that person had absolutely no reason to lie lol.

I think the consensus was that something happened (scuffle?), but there was no injury (or at least serious injury that will cause him to miss time) and the "source" was incorrect in that respect.

How accurate is that assessment? Appropriate responses include a thumbs up, thumbs down, or thumbs sideways.

#3 was saying Chase is fine and I have no other reason to believe the speculation is true. I asked about the situation and it was 1. "lol'd" and then immediately stated that chase was planning on playing as far they knew. then after i explained the rumor it was laughed at and stated that for sure chase is playing this year. that adequate? lol

Half of this discussion is in the Anzalone thread.... but..... the guy on ISD again said this tonight:

"Mark it down, he will be out injured for at least a period of time.."

There are numerous people who say this guy has never, ever been wrong about anything and is apparently closer to the team than any premium site staff, etc.

I don't know him, I'm not vouching for him, just relaying the info FWIW.......

Has anyone seen Hounshell play? I thought with KLM and Day going down that he would play. Anyone know what is going on?
