This kid may be able to rush a passer, but his decision making isn't something to brag about.

He was very impressive last year. He still looks like a freak out there even in the NFL. Just way too quick for how big he is.

At times he still looks like he just stands there, or doesn't even try. But at other times he's unblockable

I'm sure this is not an original thought on IE, but it struck me last night watching Lynch operate:

In 2011, Ishaq should have played the Lynch role, acting strictly as a pass-rusher with his hand down. Lynch should have played the Ishaq role, getting reps here and there behind Shembo standing up in space and also rushing the passer occasionally.

Lynch looks comfortable enough in space in the 3-4 that it appears the staff reallllllllllly missed the boat by forcing Ishaq to try and play standing up. Of course, perhaps they had no idea at the time, or Lynch did not look at all like he could do it, but I find that unlikely with the way he's developed.

Would it have changed anything? Probably not with Lynch, as I think he ultimately still would have left. But perhaps Ishaq could have developed a bit quicker and become a more dangerous entity with a limited focus on "put hand in dirt; get quarterback."

Lynch didn't leave because he wasn't being used properly. He was a freshman AA, and had every reason in the world to come back, but left, because Aaron Lynch.....

I am just glad the kid is putting it together and having success. He will always be one of my favorites, even if it is just for how incredible I felt when I woke up, fired up the computer and came here to see that we landed him that year. Oh and that FR year wasn't to shabby either lol

Failed Substance abuse test

Face-Palm...REALLY?

Man there is less of a margin for excuse related to PEDs, and just about no margin for illicit drugs. Man, you just can't go through life letting yourself off the hook for being an idiot all the time, because you will reach a point where others will indeed stop letting you off the hook.

Most ridiculous thing is usually NFL players know when the drug tests are coming I'm pretty sure. Unless you've been caught i don't believe they are as random as you think.

I really liked Aaron's mom, so I always had a soft spot for him but he's a man now. He'll either figure it out soon or wake up in 3 years when nobody wants to sign him and he's broke.

Kid has a penchant for boneheaded moves.

I don't think there is anything wrong or "bonehead move" with a player believing his team to be good enough, if they finish games and execute. Thats all he said, Would you rather have a player on your team saying, we suck, lets roll over and play for next years draft?

His exact quote “We possibly have one of the best teams in the NFL, easily. Hands down. We need to know how to keep finishing games and work together throughout the whole game. Once we get that down, nobody’s going to be able to mess with us.”

Agreed. This is the kind of message you want to hear from your players. As a 49ers fan, I am at a loss at how far this franchise as fallen in two years. It's a disgrace and Balke needs to go ASAP, but it's good to hear that a young player is believing in the team and not just phoning it in.

I think it's a stretch to say they could have one of the best teams in the NFL with the record they have. They're not very good right now...at all. On top of that, he's now giving possible bulletin board material to the next few teams they face by boasting how good they are/can be. Rather than take a team by surprise, they're basically saying "Don't underestimate us." That's not the most scathing thing you can say, but it can't possibly help you when you're saying that to the media. It's not like he's saying that to his team to prop them up.

As far as his past boneheaded moves, I think those are well documented.
