This dumbass has a ring and Larry Fitzgerald doesn't. Life isn't fair.

Tell Larry to play on better teams... If it was just about the best winning titles. Barry Sanders would of been drafted to the Cowboys so he could of gotten a couple rings

Floyd is the Lane Kiffin of NFL Wide Receivers. Completely fell upwards into snagging a SB ring.

Funny thing is, when the Pats were getting thumped in the third quarter last night and their receivers were smothered, I was thinking they should have had Floyd in there to give Brady a big target to hit..
I actually think he could do quite well with the Pats next year, if they re-sign him.

Worse yet is the official ND Football twitter page recognizes him to the official count of former players to win a Super Bowl...should that really count? Seems pretty "Alabama with 25 Nattys" to me.

Yes, it counts even though you're so terribly butt hurt. It's common practice in the NFL for teams to award rings to players on the seasons roster whether they're active or inactive, whether they dressed for the game or actually played in the Superbowl. Floyd had 4 catches and a TD while active for the Pats.

The NFL pays for 150 rings to be made and distributed by the team.

The winning team can typically present rings to whomever they choose, including usually, but not limited to: players (active roster or injured), coaches, trainers, executives, personnel, and general staff. Some teams have also been known to give rings to former players and coaches that were on the team at some point during the season, despite not having been on the winning roster for the Super Bowl itself.

In 2010 The New Orleans Saints gave a Super Bowl ring to Steve Gleason, a former inspirational player who retired in 2008.

This isn't new. It's the sentence for the last one.

Belichick is going to turn him into a model citizen and he's going to have 12 touchdowns next season.

I'd guess they are struggling deciding if they want to keep Floyd, Amendola, or both. Edelman, Hogan, and Mitchell are locks. They never dress 5 WRs. Amendola seems to be breaking down and can't play 16 games, but he's always great in the playoffs. No clue what they will do. Doesn't make sense to have one of those guys be WR5 and only dress when there is an injury.

Floyd will get cut cuz they will get a Comp Pick for Floyd since he was a first round pick who doesn't resign... (Why I thought it was brilliant they picked him up even if they never played him).. Danny they would cut and get 0

You do not get a comp pick if you cut a player, and the Pats aren't eligible to receive a comp pick for Floyd anyways.

Patriots play the compensatory pick game to perfection, again | ProFootballTalk

Wrong.. Hes a free agent and if he leaves.. Pats get a 2018 Comp pick for him

So it looks like there are multiple things at play here: The Basics and Methodology of Projecting the NFL's Compensatory Draft Picks | Over the Cap

1. First your assertion that Floyd will be cut is wrong, because he will be a free agent and if he would have been cut, there would be no comp picks awarded.

2. I don't know if he played enough to qualify for the Pats. Belichick is the GOAT coach, but he's not the only one who would pick up a player just for a pick/depth. Due to the lack of interest in Floyd and the dubious claims that he played enough to qualify for the Pats' formula, I'd say it's a wash or even a negative.

3. Floyd has to be given a substantial contract and it must be before June 1. "Prove it" deals probably won't be enough to trigger anything, especially if it's for something like the minimum.

The formula is a pretty well-kept secret and we won't know until Spring of 2018.

I am gonna go with a wild guess that possibly a ND alumni is helping with his legal situation?

Perhaps it was jimmymac? Imagine if some people on here had successfully guilted jimmy into doing the naked lap, and he got busted? He would never have been admitted to law school, and would never have helped Michael Floyd out. Michael Floyd would have continued to hate on ND, and would have been sentenced to 5 years in prison by some judge who did his undergrad at the University of Spoiled Children. Mike would have become Tyrone's wife, and would have had 35 years added on to his sentence after being found guilty of shanking Tyrone's ex-wife, Bambi, in the shower. Mike would have been passed around like a bad penny, once Tyrone's rival, Max, succeeded in arranging an "accident" where Tyrone feel into a vat of boiling chili and stayed there until his skin boiled off.

Thank God for jimmymac.............. one HELL of a model American!

I think Floyd would absolutely kill it for the Patriots with a full year in their system. He's the big, athletic, experienced receiver they really haven't had since Moss. And look what Moss did with Brady throwing to him. Amendola took a pay cut to stay this year and is probably looking at another for next year. If Floyd gets his head on straight and doesn't jump for a little more cash elsewhere, who knows, he could maybe even earn a ring next year.
