I love Scott Van Pelt, so hopefully he leaves ESPN for NBC Sports.

But, I've never heard him do football and I'm not sure that he would be very good at it.

This is like that story where you're in the water with a friend and a shark. You don't have to be a faster swimmer than the shark, you just have to be a faster swimmer than your friend.

SVP doesn't have to be good at calling football, he just has to be better than this guy...

Gus Johnson then the rest. I really like Doc Emerick but I think he's exclusively hockey. I really like Sam Rosen but he's better at hockey then football. SVP is not a play by play guy. Love his show though. For football, either Gus Johnson, Mike Patrick, or the guy that's with Todd Blackledge. Name slips me at the moment.

Mike Patrick is not good. He uses so much hyperbole that it's absurd. My dad first pointed it out to me a few years ago and I continue to notice him constantly overstating things.

He is still better than Hammond, though.
