a coach from his HS is going with his mom and brother and Hunter on the trip. Said coach said its no secret that ND is his ideal fit and dream school, and this weekend could be something special.

right, but you said it was his brother/Epitome. I also added some pizzazz with the ideal fit/dream school quote. :)

I did mistakenly say it was his brother/Epitome/MattinOhio instead of his coach so I will give you that. I was also trying to leave a little left to be desired but you just threw it all out there.

Well, now we have proof that GITF is in fact a tease.

Would be great to get this commitment. He is a great player and seems like a real ND guy who we'll be able to count on to stick with his decision. Plus I'm just getting sick of all our OL targets committing to UM or OSU. If we have two stud recruits in the bank I'll be more relaxed about picking up two or three more at some point along the way, even if we have to take a chance on projects (but hopefully we won't have to, with three uncommitted four-stars -- McGlinchy, Pocic, McGovern -- still seriously interested).

The visitors this weekend are from In, Il, Oh, Ky and NC. 4 of these 5 kids are quite used to this weather, no need to fret.

does weather ever make or break a trip? I mean, is it ever a deciding factor? Seems kind of unintelligent for a kid to make a decision about a university on the one thing they can't control during their visit..

Agree 1,000%

If a recruits decision for his next four years (and possibly the biggest decision of his life) is based off weather.... Well then ND was screwed anyway.

Thank goodness this isn't the case

I don't think that kids always go, "well it rained there when I was there so Notre Dame is out...", but it's psychologically proven that better weather equates better moods. Cloudiness has been proven to cause more anger, and I believe, rain more depression. Similar things have been proven with colors and things of the sort. It's all subconscious.

Bivin is from Kentucky. I hardly think weather is a deterrent to him.

Regarding weather, and call me crazy, but on ND's campus I think it's irrelevant. I know for one that the allure of the campus, besides everything we talk about constantly, is how beautiful it is in any weather. I personally love how the campus looks in the hot summer, how it looks on a dreary wet fall day, how it looks with snow, or how it looks on a chilly wet spring day.

There's just something about the place that makes it feel right and special, irrespective of the weather. This feeling is magnified even more when a longtime fan visits the campus for the first time. I think Bivin will be focused on soaking it all it.

South Quad is a wind tunnel during the winter, 50% of the girls dress in sweats every day, and the sludge is nasty...but the Golden Dome looks great in any weather.

...like nearly every university in the midwest during these months. I for one like some part of girls wearing sweat pants...

I was honestly thinking the same thing....not trying to look hot or be noticeable really makes you hot and noticeable....I'm messed up.

Not just the Midwest, either. Basically anywhere north of the Mason/Dixon line. New England schools have the same thing. I'm cool with it.

Looks like Bivin's basketball team pulled off the upset tonight, which means they play again on Saturday, which (I think) means he'll have to postpone the visit. Just our luck, as I think we'd get him this weekend if he makes it to campus.

according to Wiltfong, the game is Friday. Not sure if he'd be able to visit on Saturday if that's the case.
