Maybe its not that darby doesnt want a visit from kelly, but that he doesnt need another to know hes irish bound, just my gut(super optimistic) guess.

possible but unlikely. "silent" commits would help with this, but who knows if Darby is a silent commit or not...

Here Te'o4Heisman is most of the speculation i conjured up in my head.
According to TP we have a silent commit for NSD, and TP posted that in this thread, also saying on facebook that we will be happy, just b4 that he/she/they posted a pic of some boys with Darby saying '' Come home brotha''
still a leap but... ya never know

All of that makes plenty of sense except that if Darby was a silent commit, CBK would know it and likely not be sitting on standby hoping to hear back from Darby about a last minute in home to sway him back to ND. Dont get me wrong, Darby is probably the one guy outside of Shaq that I want at ND more than anybody else out there right now and I definitely would never doubt this staff and their persistence. Last year they were able to get back into the homes of Lynch and Tuitt and we had the support of mom in both cases. Im not so sure what the situation is with Ron, but much like Kuehnja said, if BK cant get in the living room, this ones over and not in our favor.

I love our class even if it ends up just as it is now. I also like the flexibility that not maxing out this year gives us towards a few extra schollies next year with a much deeper talent pool and lots of early ND interest from the big fish. We hit on some major needs this year. Darby or Shaq is just the difference between a triple and a homerun at our biggest need.

I won't be expecting Darby to come back to ND.

There's a stirring in my gut though that would be hard to describe what it means to you guys though.

Back to Darby, I think track plays more of a factor than we think. Thus, Auburn and the SEC gets his committment. And this is 100% pure speculation!!!

Folks, please take the vagueness-really-offends-my-being and clarity-is-self-entitled banter to private message. Everyone here should know not to clutter up a recruit's thread with this sort of stuff.

safe to assume kelly never made it to darbys yesterday?

Weren't people saying that he didn't agree to have Kelly visit him? Weird turn of events. Did someone on our staff flip off his grandma or something? To go from committed to this is crazy.

This class is good, but this class with Darby it would have been ideal.

Yeah it's crazy to think how his LATE decommitment really screwed us on a number of levels. We'd for sure have either (or both) Yuri Wright and Marcus Rios on board if we had never had Darby committed.

I know. That really pisses me off.

Thanks Darby. Better hope you have a long productive career in the NFL.

First time poster, long time listener:

But not sure what effect it has (99% sure it has absolutely zero impact), but:

Marvin Bracy set the US HS record for the 55m dash yesterday 6.08s

Marvin Bracy 55m NR 6.08! Watkins, Nadel win Miles, Wilson 2:09 800 - MileSplit United States

The article says Bracy is "setting of hopes" of the olympic team, but IMO this is really far fetched. He does have a PR of 10.05 ( Jeff Demps has the fastest HS 100m at 10.01 at the 2008 Olympic trials, but Bracy does have another year to do that).

Just thought it is interesting considering the role Bracy has (maybe, possibly?) had in Darby's recruitment.

Also: other posters have touched on this, but:

IF Darby puts heavy consideration on track in his decision, Auburn isnt really the choice. Yes, they are in the SEC, but not a great sprinting school. LSU and FSU (and Clemson) do have great sprint programs.

Makes me think Darby is FSU bound, but with us 2nd?

SO In summary:
Bracy is a great sprinter. I think Darby to FSU. Nothing Earth shattering.

At first, the Darby situation was pretty cut and dry. He decommited but ND was still one of the top choices. But now, this really angers me. I won't wish him luck, because he really screwed ND over. He not only led us on for a good 6 months, committing with the Irish. That I get. But, why won't he let Kelly meet with him? That truly pisses me off. Now, 2012, the CB part of the recruiting cycle, has ONE recruit. ONE. Thanks Darby, hope you enjoy FSU. Really pathetic and sad.

take your negative attitude somewhere else.I understand he may have cost us a few high quality players, but we really do not know any information about what really happen or what may happen. Maybe he had a change of heart or whatever idk.. We are talking about 18 year old kids..Making that real first big career choice is always tough.. I hope he understands what ND has to offer but the kid has to do whats best for him

I believe you meant to rant on NDNation.com's board. Honest mistake.
