thanks for the feedback guys. probably not the right thread, but do you think we get anybody else besides standifer? assuming his sanish class is approved by admissions of course.

It's not a matter of BK not going its a matter of Darby not inviting him. Anyways personally i've heard no, but TP seems to indicate otherwise.

i keep track of this board way more than posting, but have been following the recruitment of most of the players we are after on here more so than the recruiting sites for a while because i trust you guys more with the updates. saying that, is it likely that bk visits darby today? if so do you guys think we have a good shot at him?

Kelly and the staff have been trying to get in touch with Darby to set up a visit, but he hasn't responded. If you read back, it's been posted that Sampson reported that Kelly is on standby waiting to fly down to MD immediately if Darby gives the ok. So with Darby going dark there's no way to know where we stand. Everyone seems to think that FSU leads, although it's not totally clear to me why.

Personally I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing that Darby has wanted to think things over on his own this week, and wouldn't read it as a sign that we've been eliminated if Darby doesn't want to talk to Kelly today. Maybe it just means that he has heard Kelly's pitch and doesn't need to hear it again; he just wants to think things over on his own and decide what he wants.

Anyway, the bottom line is that there is no visit imminent and no encouraging news on Darby. I'm not optimistic but holding out hope.

ah, i see. well i live like an hour and a half away from darby or at least his school (have no idea where he lives) so maybe i'll visit him for kelly.. don't worry i'll get him to commit.

i agree completely.. i haven't checked 2013's targets too closely but even if darby turns him away, could he visit some 2013 prospects so the trip is not a total waste?

yeah like you said, he probably knows kelly's pitch and just wants to be left alone if he does turn him away. also like you said if the staff did get to visit i'd be much more confident

Seriously?? Based on what? There's no reason in the post you quoted other than its the poster's daydream pretty much...Yes, he's avoiding the coach of the future school he already knows he is going to. That would sure be one hell of a way to get off on the right foot. :banghead2

Edit: This post is full of jest, and not meant to attack your post....it just seems to me that as it gets close to signing day people are taking the events that are unfolding and putting their own spin on everything, and some of it seems well, not very realistic. This would be semi-equivalent to having several job offers, and avoiding the manager at the job you were going to take, because well...you knew thats the one you wanted.

Point was just that if Darby "already knew he was coming to ND", it wouldnt be a good idea, or make much sense to avoid his new coach, just like if you had multiple job offers and knew which one you wanted it wouldnt make much sense to avoid your new boss. I'll certainly be more pragmatic from now on as not to ruffle your feathers. Far be it from anyone to hold out hope on a recruiting board. Facts and empirical evidence are clearly the only way to go around here.
