It isn't that I doubted it! I just wanted a source more than just Clashmore. haha I wouldn't expect him to post bogus news, but I do appreciate when that stuff is cited.

I feel like he's waiting to see Armond's situation clear up. I don't know what else he'd be waiting for.

Kind of how I'm feeling also. Like he's going to be Irish if Armond is in. That's why he said decision in a few days to a week and why he didn't pop for Cal today. I think USC's blocking Armond to any other Pac-12 schools just hooked us two huge fish. :wordyo:

If we get Arik my head will explode trying to comprehend the amount of talent and depth we will have on the defensive line in the next few years.

They say defenses win championships and I think Kelly and his staff have bought into that philosophy. Our offense will be fine and we will soon see the return of elite ND Football for years to come.

Hmm...I'm still trying to think of who that guy who kept bumping this thread saying getting Arik would make this class go from great to phenomenal was...

I'd love to know how this visit went.

I was just contemplating how huge it would be to cap off this class with arguably the #1 prospect in the nation.

I haven't been confident (to say the least) that we land Armstead, but I can dream, can't I?

If you land Arik to go with Sheldon and Jarron, you arguably have back to back the greatest D-line hauls in a long time at Notre Dame.

Like I said a while back, Arik is the type of kid that would take this class to new heights.

Oh. Nevermind.

bahaha I know you guys love how cocky I'm getting tonight. ;)

When do classes at Berkeley start back up? If he's going to be an EE hell have to decide real quick. A lot of schools start this Monday.

You saying that adding the #1 player in the country would make the class better makes you cocky? Can I get a source on that?

Longtime lurker first post. Just thought this was a really good point so I looked it up really quick, and, lo and behold, Berkeley's first classes of the spring semester start this Tuesday the 10th. So logically he would have to decide within three days to go Cal, otherwise he is ND, I would assume.

Cal's academic calendar

If his brother's ultimate destination matters so much, then does Arik's decision timetable seem realistic? Or is it possible that where his brother lands really has no bearing on Arik?

It all fits as Armond has realistically only one transfer destination it seems (ND) and the NFL draft enrollment deadline is 1/15. Arik should be deciding by 1/15 at the latest whether he'll be at ND as classes start 1/17. The logistics were incredibly simplified from what they originally appeared to be by the limiting of transfer options for Armond.

I see. Thanks for clarifying, buddy!

I am pretty sure that I read that one of the recruits (either Elijah or Jarron) said that they thought we would get one more defensive player from the USAAG, at the time I assumed they meant Yuri maybe they were meaning Arik??? I'm starting to get a feeling, too. If this happens I think we are playing for a title in the next few years for sure.

Edit: It was Keivarae,"We added another playmaker on the defensive end," Russell said. "We've already got Tee Shepard, Ronald Darby and Deontay Greenberry. Shumate, he can hit, he can fly up to the ball, he can defend well. We'll add another player on the defensive end."

If this is in fact true you'll have to scrape me off the ceiling with a rake!!!

Interesting choice of words, young Keivarae. Interesting choice of words.

He can play either position but I wish he would accept that his future position in the NFL is LT where he would be ELITE. Not saying he wouldn't be a great NFL player at DT/DE but this kid is built like a monster LT

I don't know, I see a taller suh in the making. I gotta feeling the opposing O line will look like they are wearing roller skates.
