According to Rivals,

He has been receiving some interest from the staff.

With those measureables it looks like he'll project as a LB in our 3-4. Is that right? 220lbs seems small for a DE unless he has room to grow.

reaching for second tier guys leads me to believe their might be some issues with our current prospects or commits. i dont want to induce panic...but historically these developing scenarios are not usually good signs.

OLB

There is probably no reason to panic. Maybe insurance for French... but we lose Fleming & Filer next year.

We need all the depth we can get at OLB. This has been obvious since the beginning of the recruiting cycle.

And Kelly is casting a much wider recruiting net than Weis ever dreamed of. I'm not worried about this either. Worst case scenario, we don't have to scramble at NSD to fill out this class. Does seem like we're offering a lot of OLBs though.

Is there any film on Ray?

while that is all true, the timing of this interest is alarming. depth at OLB is key for this class and we are now moving to the second page in order to get that said depth. after this weekend, i think things will be a little more clear... *hint*

Hint based on what?

Are you implying that Councell is waivering?

Or are you implying there is someone committing this weekend?

French is deciding on Dec. 7th, so that's next week. Ishaq is declaring at the Army AA Game.

The staff has been focused on winning games this season and they are taking full advantage of the late season success and time off. I'm sure several more names will pop up. Much like Carl Williams, Quincy Aldridge, Shane Ray.

i think in the system that there using (3-4) you can never have enough options at outside linebacker. or "tweeners" guys that can play standing up or put there hand in the dirt. also if you get a kid thats 6'4" or 6'5" 200-230lbs. thats listed as an outside backer chances are hes gonna add mass when he gets to school which then has the possibility to become a d-end. with the kids we have moving on this year or next i think the staff would like to have options and interchangeable parts. so when i see a recruit thats listed like that i think d-end because look how many juniors we have on the line this year. outside backer would be your flemming, filer, shembo, rabasa, or chickillo type 6'2"-6'3" 220-230lbs strong, good burst, but can also cover.

i think its because it seems like he has really good burst, but were talking 5-10 yards not 40 yards.....but thats ok when your a rush lb or de but more then the burst i know thats old film but he looks like a twig an incredibly strong twig....haha he was bull rushing ol twice his thickness so looks like he has great strength..... what type of competition does he play against?
