pardon my ignorance, but will he be able to practice with the team?
He was joking.
Yes, Prestwood will participate fully in all team activities. He just can't play.
Think of it as a mandatory red-shirt. Which is fine, because he would have red-shirted anyway.
No I wasn't joking, I was totally serial.

The "Forced Redshirt" allows him to really prepare for the next level without ever feeling slighted about not getting playing time as a Frosh.
An extra year of both physical and mental maturity, coupled with a year to learn the system/schemes and we could have a very dominant lineman here.
sitting out a year, that means he burns that year of eligibility, correct?

The NCAA gives a recruit 5 years to use his 4 years of eligibility. The clock starts when your HS class graduates. Whether you play as a Freshman, go JUCO, transfer, redshirt, or watch the grass grow the clock is ticking. For those going on a mission, the clock freezes during the mission. A 6th year to play 4 may be granted for medical reasons if approved by the NCAA. 5 to play 4 so he's burning one of the 5 not one of the 4.
Weinke played minor league baseball. When he failed at baseball he played NCAA football for FSU. I believe he would have 4 years of eligibility.Just asking. How did the Chris Weinke thing work?
Woah, easy there Mihalko! Tony Alford has been putting in work and landing top-flight prospects for the Irish long before Diaco has. I love Diaco, but Alford deserves all the credit in the world. Aaron Lynch anyone?
BGIF, how long ago was it that they changed that rule? Not questioning-just curious..I seem to remember when I was playing that your clock didn't start until you played a sport for one year? That's why every once in awhile you were getting these old geezers and such that tried making a college team...or players who tried pro baseball first, then came back to college football. Or am I way off here?

Wait . . . Chick Norris actually fought people? Like, for real? I always thought that the whole "Chuck Norris" thing was just supposed to be humorous . . . like, "here's this small, unathletic-looking scrub, wouldn't it be funny if we made him beat people up in movies?!"
There is no way Chuck Norris has ever won a fight against a person that was trying. I would crush that guy.
HAH! He'd probably whoop you today. And he's old now.
There is no way. I just wish I could have fought him in his prime so he wouldn't have any excuses. Pardon my French, but Chick Norris is a b*tch.
