I just had a great idea. What if we incepted lynch. We plant the idea in his head that ND is clearly the better choice. It will come to define who he is. I'm thinking a dream within a dream. The 2nd level will be him as a superstar at ND just dominating, and then after football he uses his degree to continue his success. Then he wakes up in the 1st level, in which he had actually chosen to attend FSU and now he's homeless begging for money. The stark contrast between the two choices will be so great that when he wakes up to reality he has no choice but to recognize what ND can give him.

This is what hurts so much about it, this thread and any mention of DEs for the next 4 years will bring up the reminder of the highly touted kid that grew up a ND fan from a family of HUGE ND fans...spreading ashes on campus ND fans....moving to South Bend from Florida to find work just to be near your son ND fans...and we had him, only to lose him to the state school nothing like ND.

When Mike Frank talks about the damage to the "Notre Dame brand" this is exactly what he is talking about. I am optimistic the program will rise to a level where we do not miss recruits from this senario anymore. I agree Lynch will be just another great player for f$u and would have left ND with a greater legacy and larger posse of fans, but face it guys we are going to have to do it without him.

Good luck Mr. Lynch and family, here is to hoping you play for a Midwest NFL team, settle in the area, and have a large family of boys that become recruited by ND in the future...hopefully then the Lynch family tradition of being a ND fan continues and distance will no longer be a problem.

Lets all be honest...if there was breaking news tomorrow that Aaron switched to ND overnight...even those of us who hated his decision to pick FSU would have a sigh of relief knowing we just landed a big time DE. forget the hoopla of the situation, Tuitt and Lynch would be beasts! But he wont be coming here and I'll have to agree with newenglandguy, heres to the little pack of Lynch's 25 years from now

Chris Martin, Seantrell Henderson, Dillon Baxter, Aaron Lynch, ....

Cant think of a scenario where teammates at F$U would like seeing him wear that shirt. Especially since he decommitted from ND(they all know that). Even if this was a 80's Miami Hurricane style taunt, wearing another teams gear just doesnt make sense. If he is trying to say that he is F$U all the way, just an Irish fan rocking Irish gear, what kind of teammate is that?

I am pretty sure that he is going to FSU. I do agree that so people made alot a of rude comments towards him including my self it was wrong and should not have been done. There are big problems in this world other then him decommiting ND. IE troops across seas protecting this country. Kelly and his staff will get good guys for this team.

While we all like to think we 'know' why Lynch changed his commitment it is all speculation, even what they say publicly may not be the truth, sometimes things are done for people to 'save face' this just might be one of those scenarios.......you know?

Anyway, I may be way off base........but I still think him wearing the shirt had the desired impact, it stirred up the ND Fan Base and got him more publicity. The recruiting services will often ask a kid to keep ND in their Top 3 for the drama and the interest that ND brings, its embarrassing to think this happens but we hear it all the time.....this could be another one of those cases, Lynch wears the shirt, ND Fans get themselves into a tizzy and start clicking all over a website for information and it looks good for recruiting gurus......

Blah blah blah suckers they got you talking about him again. His mommy pulls the strings...they knew what they were doing when he put the shirt on.

Who cares! You either want to come to ND or you don't. Kelly wants RKGs. Those players will end up here, period.

This is a kid that could have immediately helped us on the DLine. I was as disappointed as anyone when he decommited. I hope he stays at FSU now and wish he hadn't worn the shirt because here we are discussing it. In my opinion it is a publicity stunt to get more attention.

Imagine how this board would react if one of our commits was seen at this stage of the recruiting process wearing a USC or Michigan shirt or cap!!!

could be paying homage to his grandfather or maybe he is just a fan........I didnt go to Notre Dame but remained a big fan and wore ND stuff to school at UK....loved them both. Point being I don't think we should read anything into him wearing a t-shirt

I think the picture goes along with the article on Irish Illustrated: Lynch gets closure with Irish. I would rather see Lynch handle closure like he did with the shirt rather than he bashing ND. After NSD hopefully ND nation can have closure with Lynch- we all loved and praised him when he gave us his verbal and when he decommited we bashed all over him. However, if he still wanted to come to ND I'd accept him 150% and I think he would be a RKG for our program.
