I am elated we have Stephon on board. I agree with OMM and IrishinSyria that this kid could make an immediate impact on our defensive line with his power and strength. Wish we could get a kid like this every year. Cannot wait to see him on the field.

Stephon Tuitt is all Irish

Stephon Tuitt, 2011 Notre Dame commit has led his Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes to the 3rd round of the Georgia High School playoffs. His team is currently sitting at 11-1, which is even more impressive considering his team was 0-10 last year. Monroe Area will take on defending state champions Sandy Creek this week.

Although Tuitt has been committed to Notre Dame for some time now schools are still contacting him.

"I hear a lot from Auburn, LSU, Georgia Tech and Florida," said Tuitt. " I am still committed to Notre Dame and I am not taking any visits."

Despite Notre Dame not having the best season, Tuitt knows first hand from his Monroe team that teams can turn around in one season.

"I know Notre Dame is having a bad season, but just like us, you can work hard in the off season and get things turned around," he said."There is no doubt in my mind that things will get turned around in South Bend and I can't wait to get there."

Can we get a countdown to NSD going somewhere? I can't take this anymore!

Tuitt is one of a handful of guys I could not bear to lose in this class.

Tuitt is the key recruit on defense. He can be the same kind of difference maker that Manti Teo has been on that side of the ball. He is far more important to this defensive class than Lynch ever was.

Offensively, Hegarty is the key recruit. He will plug a hole at offensive tackle for the next few years.

Together Hegarty and Tuitt are the cornerstones of this recruiting class.

It is not all doom & gloom. Look on the brighter side of life......

Didn't say it was, losing Lynch was a crack in the armor and Hayes is a dime a dozen. To lose Mr. Stephon would seriously make me pull out all my hair and I'd admit myself to the physic ward. I want playmakers on the defensive line something we've lacked for years and Mr. Tuitt is that.

Tuitt would be a huge addition. But has the year has gone on, it is amazing what player development can lead to.

I would love to add Ray Drew.

I hope the Hayes de-commit means there is a possibility for Huggins and Shuler. Add Lyons and don't even wake me for Christmas.

Sweet good to see Truitt throw it out there just the way he sees it.

My good man.... his name is S. TUITT. That's like the third time you've done it so I'm just trying to give you a heads up.

Anyway, with the way recruiting has gone recently, I almost had a nervous breakdown when I scrolled down the page and saw his name. Not cool, but it was a very good find and good to see (for the moment) that he is all Irish

That actually makes me sad seeing Aaron Lynch listed in all those categories.

If we land Ishaq to go with Tuitt, Lynch will be an after thought. Not to mention if Drew still has us in the mix...

Will get an in-home visit this week.

This guy is a must-get (I know, I hate the term too) for this class. Lynchpin for the future. He and Hegarty are the two that I see as building the base for the next few years.

We will have the specialty players to play the skill positions. A solid DL and OL will make this team seamless.

I was talking a bout the RTD we caught called decommittments. Everytime I see a verbal commit thread comes up now I dread to read it.

I know, but you can't have it both ways. You come on the board for updates, don't you?
