7, 8, 9 all sign FA RBs. Though I don’t think this one stop them from drafting Love if he fell there. It’s just not a dire need.

Yeah, a one year deal is a nothing burger. They are just smartly hedging their bet trying to make sure that they aren't left with nothing if Love is already gone at 7.

In fact, I think all of these items signal that Love isn't falling below 7 and that's why the Saints and Chiefs went with significant free agent signings since their intel was leading them to believe that the Commanders would definitely take him if he was still on the board.

Yup. I’ve been catching up on nfl podcasts this week after free agency started and the consensus is that the Chiefs didn’t want to lock in to drafting Love and at least part of the reason they and the Saints signed guys is that Love probably won’t make it to 8 or 9.

Where do people get this stuff?

Where has Saleh failed?

He was a defensive assistant in Seattle during the LOB years when they won the SB. He then went to SF where they finished 2nd overall in team defense and 1st in pass defense enroute to a SB appearance where they lost to KC.

His 2nd stint in SF they finished 11th overall in defense, and went 12-5 despite being ravaged by injuries on that side of the ball.

That leaves us with his stint as the NYJ head coach. The Jets were a dysfunctional organization before Saleh arrived and remain so after his firing.

Nobody in the league held it against Saleh because everyone knows the Jets ownership is a mess.

I'm not saying he's Buddy Ryan but the guy has had success everywhere he's been with the exception of one place. Yet you defined him seemingly off that one place.

A guy in my dynasty league took over a team that got blown up. He’s got 1.1 and 1.12.

I tanked after week 6, so I’m at 1.2. I’m taking Love if he takes Mendoza at 1.1

He’s now offering me this year’s 1.12 and next year’s first-rounder to move up to my 1.2 spot.

I love Love too much to make the smart business decision lol

Agreed. And Saleh is also part of that awesome Central Michigan Brian Kelly Christmas Party story too.

Just hope he doesn’t become the Brady Quinn of this years draft. Browns actually made smart draft with Joe Thomas and still got Brady 22nd. Turned out he should have been a 3rd rounder. An example of who drafts you can make or break your career. Hope Jadarian Price can make it in the first round. Would also like to see Estime hang in there with the Saints.

What? He’s unanimously viewed as the top player at his position and is seen as a Barkley/Robinson level prospect. He will not fall to 22nd, and if he does perma ban me.

Yep, I think someone would either A) trade up or B) just take him if he fell to them.

Not a ton of upper tier prospects this year to my knowledge. Can just take him if he falls into your lap as best player available. This isnt QB where "oh we already like the guy we have" or "we don't have that grade on him" or anything like that.

The floor on him is probably solid-good starter and the ceiling is like you mentioned, Barkley/Robinson.

If Love is somehow available at 7 and the Commanders don't take him because they signed some bum from TB then they deserve to suck for the next 5 years. This draft is mostly ass outside of Love and like 5 other guys.
I will be convinced that Dan Synder is still running the show from the shadows if we don't draft Love at 7, some cursed shit...

he is considered by more than a few sites the best player in the draft
they do not fall out of the top ten
It seems like quite a few ND players have taken a free fall at draft time. I don't think Love will, and I also want to see him become a long-term stud in the NFL.

I cannot think of a ND player so rated this high that ever fell much. But to be honest, when was the last time a ND player was thought to be possibly the best player in the draft? Tim Brown, Rocket? were either of them rated this high before the draft?
Its been too long but Tim Brown was picked as #6 overall but it was not a great draft
he was picked before Sterling Sharpe and Michael Irvin

Jaylon Smith, before his injury, was the last player. Rocket was also thought to be the best player in ‘91.

Most of NDs top ten draft picks lately have been from the OL, Quenton Nelson #6, Mike McGlinchy #9, Ronnie Stanley #5, Joe Alt #5. I guess the most recent one who I thought would be higher was Michael Mayer falling to round 2, #35, but he hasn't quite been able to show much on the Raiders anyway, so far.

Mayer has not done well but then the Raider have who as a QB? we shall see but yeah he has disappointed so far.
Those O linemen were picked about where they were expected to and none of them were considered as the best player in the draft
