This is gonna be an amazing night. CFB Twitter and Reddit are all joined in celebration.

All grudges are on the side for one evening.

It’s like that scene at the end of Return of the Jedi, where the Death Star blows up and everyone is partying together.

The Ewoks playing drums and dancing are Central Michigan and Cincinnati fans.

Everyone is in on the action and loving every second.

glad they named Frank Wilson as interim. Usually, the interim gets the team to their emotionally highest in that first game post firing. Y’all play Bama so maybe they can pull off the upset?! It’s not like LSU is devoid of talent & I’m sure they love Wilson.

Kelly looks done coaching. He just doesn't have the juice or the fire anymore. At the very least, I could see him taking a year off.

So this will be unpopular, and I’m not defending the guy. But he DID rebuild this program. Yeah, he was a shit fit at LSU. But I can see him making a program like BC or Rutgers somewhat formidable. I suspect we haven’t seen the last of Ol purple face…
It’s all about context. I can’t imagine a better HC who actually wanted the ND job when the Irish hired BK. Couple that with the failure of the 3 previous HC, ND getting BK was perfect timing. Again, what better HC were they gonna get? I’m thankful he brought ND as far as he did. I wanted him fired after 2016 but to his credit (& Elko/Lea), he turned it around. Now, ND is in the best spot possible w/ MF & I‘ll feel zero sympathy for BK getting shitcanned in LSU. He’ll walk away w/ generational wealth but he’ll never be able to buy character/reputation. Again…he’s the Hillary Clinton of CFB so he should probably ride off into the sunset & out of the public eye.

This here.

BK is loathsome now but he was great for us from 2010 through 2012 and again from 2017 onward. Then he apparently decided he did what he could do, and decided to shoot his shot for a natty. OK. It showed him to be an asshole, and didn’t work out for him or for LSU. But it has for us.

Now he’s a wealthy man and we are a year-in year-out contender. Alls well that ends well.

From Brice:

Exactly this. I’ve been saying it since day 1 when BK got his golden parachute that I didn’t think he gave 2 F’s if he were to be fired.

BK was trying to get fired today if he said he would agree to firing the OC but would also fire the OL coach. That was a brilliant move manipulating the AD to firing him.

This was not a move of someone trying to save his job. He got exactly what he wanted.

LSU may have “won” today, but as far as BK is concerned, he is the real winner and is laughing all the way to the bank.

Freeman and Kiffin gonna be really busy coaching like 4 different teams each next year.
Personally, I believe LSU is a better job than Florida, but if Freeman immediately told Florida no, I feel even more confident LSU is a no for multiple reasons.

1) LSU seems hellbent to go a completely different route with fit. I highly doubt they double dip to another ND coach that is also a “Yankee”
2) There is no shot in hell Freeman wants to follow in Kelly’s footsteps at all
3) Freeman and his wife already chose ND over LSU once when he was becoming DC. The reasons they chose ND are probably even more positive and prominent now than they were 4.5 years ago.

#3 for me is the biggest piece of it all. He had a chance to go to LSU once and turned them down flat. I just think Freeman is a midwestern guy and clearly feels comfortable with his family there.
