2019 made them think they were God's gift to whole fucking world and they're having a hard time realizing they're always a second tier SEC program that's been lucky a few times this century.
When he came to ND, getting back to 9 wins was an incredible success. When he went to LSU, they recently won a title. The expectations were way higher and he was a clear outsider. Was either going to produce serious results our flame out spectacularly. No middle ground.
LSU fans have never been particularly hinged but BK is going to break the streak of LSU coaches winning a title and they're not taking that well. Especially considering BK was the most heralded hire of the past 4 and they had fully bought into the BK fed national narrative that Kelly was a championship coach held back by ND.
Yeah, they didn't just win the title, as Irish5Saint mentioned, they won a title with a team that gets bandied about as one of the best ever assembled.
I totally get that. On the other hand, in a year with little offense, Tiger fans have been taking relative pride in the D. Looks like the last time A&M dropped 49+ in the house of a power conference opponent was 2014 South Carolina.
The only time LSU strung together four Top 12 finishes, the players might've been all white. They integrated during this time, but finding the first black player to actually get on the field isn't easy.
Sounds like someone NBC would put in the booth for ND games.
