I think the USC OL might have held a few times. Calling some of those might have killed a couple of their drives. Instead, we got called for nearly all the penalties.

Exactly. Besides, the USC players were doing plenty of jaw jacking with the crowd before the game. It's a rivalry game and part of HFA is the other team not feeling welcome.

Yeah, that August dude is a complete dumbass who doesn't know ball. I got into it with him last year after the A&M game, he said ND's offense was trash and we were going to run into a much improved defense against SC. We "weren't winning in LA."
He came back at the start of this season after I told him SC was losing again this year. He said it wasn't happening. Love it.
There's a few really delusional SC accounts out there still living in the Cheaty Petey days. This guy is one of them. He trolls ND fans all the time thinking SC is still elite, he said Love is overrated (Despite the fact he's carved SC up the last two years):

As an Eagles season ticket holder and expert on hostile environments … this was easily the most hostile I’ve seen an ND crowd. Made me so proud.
A mix of:
- Boozing all day in the rain
- Rain driving women / families to stay home, resulting in more guys being dudes
- Obvious context of USC ending a century old rivalry bc they don’t “need us”, resulting in lot of “thanks cancelling this cowards” type jabs.
Really an awesome night all around.

My entire TL is unfortunately just a bunch of USC fans pointing out every single missed call, completely ignoring the fact we were penalized like 10x and they only had one accepted penalty against them all night. They’ve fully committed to blaming the loss on the refs.
Ok sure, but the game was over.
A bunch of balding dudes being dickheads to players running into the tunnel post game is stupid and kind of pathetic in my opinion.

the kick return was nice to take the wind out of USC's sails, but let's be honest, if the return was called back, ND would've dog walked USC's defense down the field for a TD anyway.
