Unless I’m mistaken, the nameplate of the jersey (where he was grabbed) is treated the same as the collar.
I didn't know about the nameplate. They probably don't know the rule either. Should have been called along with the facemask.

Kicker has the bye week to figure out the kicking game or else lose his NIL forever
Which one .... Burnette who couldn't even come within 10 ft of the goal post on an extra point and a chip shot FG OR Schmidt who can't keep a fuckin' kickoff from going out of bounds? Those 2 last night .... is that now 4 or 5 this year that he has shanked out of bounds?

I thought it was pretty chicken shit for LR to walk off the field and not shake hands. I could be wrong, but I don’t recall seeing it on TV. That said, I was in Nashville for the LSU game and had been drinking since 9AM.

I think Biagi is trying to get him to place the kickoffs in the corner to make them return it, and hopefully tackle the returner around the 20. But trying to be cute and save 5 yards is costing us 15 multiple times a game. I think Schmidt has the leg to blast it out of the back of the endzone every time if Biagi tells him too.

This was a big Urban emphasis when he was at OSU.

In person report:

My brother and I took my dad (Class of 1970) as a bucket list trip. It's my brother and I's first home game experience and my dad's first since he graduated.

(1) The weather was beautiful earlier in the day, and we were able to tour the whole campus with sunny clear skies.

(2) The rain was torrential about an hour before kickoff, while the first half was mostly dry. Second half the rain picked up again but not too terrible. It was fairly warm so even though we were soaked it was tolerable.

(3) This is my first general CFB home game experience so I have nothing to compare it to but the campus atmosphere was electric and the tailgaters were partying their hearts out in force.

(4) The stadium was bumping, the game day experience is legit and the crowd had a lot of energy.

(5) Hell of a game. We were all on our toes until basically the end.

(6) The whole stadium was, to put it mildly, pissed at the officiating. We were getting hit with soft, ticky-tacky calls while USC had probably half a dozen blatant holding calls and a hit out of bounds calls that were totally missed. And I generally am not one to blame the refs but it was BAD.

We finally pulled the trigger on the trip due to my dad's health and it was a memory all three of us will cherish. A win over SC was the cherry on top of a perfect weekend.

One of the most fun nights I’ve ever had at a football game. Rain just added to the atmosphere since it was warm. Crowd was super impressive last night, and definitely more loaded than usual considering the rain which helped. I felt like I was at an eagles game the way we stood 3/4 of the game. The strides they’ve made in stadium atmosphere over the last decade have been incredible.

The music isn’t perfect yet, but gets better every year. No crazy train thank god. California Love and Going back to Cali at the end were especially great.

Well worth the 12 hours of travel yesterday.

There are multiple ND fans across the internet today who were at the game sharing video and photos of a quick hand shake. It happened

USC flashes the "V" like Texas the horns.
Some Texas Tech fans showed up at our gamewatch and asked what ND's hand signal is. I don't know if we have one. Is it the #1 point?

NBC cut away quickly as it could have gotten interesting. There looked to be a small amount of pushing and shoving.

Interesting USC’s defensive game plan respected ND beating them through the air. Noted in the Michigan game they were not in Nickel often, instead using Gentry as a Rover type LB and playing 3 LBs often. Against ND, they played 5 DBs for 45 plays.

They did not load the box as much as NC State or even Boise. Fucked around and found out.

Noticed that last night too. Began counting the defenders in the box randomly and it was very rarely more than 5.

Lol. Lmao even.

They used to do the W during the 1812. Not sure if they still do.
