“Intentional destruction…” if that isn’t lack of fucking institutional control I don’t know what it.
Our wins last season were just vacated because you said thisSo we should be cheating
Notre Dame needs to grow a pair and claim those wins back, especially for our overall win % claimSo they're basically going to ban the coaches responsible and fine the university and that's it lol
We vacated two years worth of wins for retroactively regrading some homework
Just delete it and we will be fineOur wins last season were just vacated because you said this
When have they ever not claimed them? They never disavow them in any press release or media guide, and instead put an asterisk (actually a shamrock because it's the Irish, get it?) with a footnote saying the total includes wins that were subsequently vacated.Notre Dame needs to grow a pair and claim those wins back, especially for our overall win % claim
I mean, when they let the 2023 season play out without doing anything, we knew this was basically how it would go, right?Let’s take two years to come out with stuff we already knew about and then admit we cannot punish them because the players we should’ve punished are already gone
I’m glad that’s the case. I swore we had a conversation on IE years ago (maybe led by @IrishLax) about the vacated wins costing us the overall win % in college football. When have they ever not claimed them? The non-ND sources (e.g., Wikipedia, NCAA, SI, etc.) do not include them in the totals. ND, despite Jenkins and Swarbrick saying otherwise when it all started have never done anything than follow the USC-Bush model.I’m glad that’s the case. So we don’t get credit outside of our bubble when millions are watching our games and they flash the graphic on the screen. That’s fun lol.The non-ND sources (e.g., Wikipedia, NCAA, SI, etc.) do not include them in the totals. Not sure how NBC handles it at this point, but they referred to Kelly as the all-time winningest coach and that's only true if you include the wins that were supposed to be vacated. No matter how you slice it, he was and is the all-time losingest coach, which I don't feel gets brought up enough. So we don’t get credit outside of our bubble when millions are watching our games and they flash the graphic on the screen. That’s fun lol.
The shit the NCAA did to Mizzou was even worse.NCAA is the biggest fucking joke when it comes to organizations. I'm not surprised by this, but still disappointed. Was at least hoping they'd lose scholarships and have a post season ban. They certainly should have had wins taken away, 100%.
Hammer Miami for their impermissible benefits? Nope.
Hammer North Carolina for students not actually taking classes? Nope.
Hammer Penn State for covering up a fucking pedophile scandal? Temporarily yes, then no when they took the punishments back.
Hammer Michigan for actually cheating to win games for 3 years when they've been mediocre for the rest of the 2000s? Nope.
Hammer Notre Dame for self reporting a few players having papers written for them. YES
Fuck Michigan. There will always be an asterisk on 2023 for college football fans that aren't scUMers, just like Barry Bonds.
