Just picked up my copy of Phil Steele yesterday, and he has the units ranked nationally as follows:

D-Line:
ND - 4 - notes they're loaded with depth and potential and should have a heavy rotation of quality guys especially at edge
Miami - 11 - Notes that Rueben Bain is a stud but less depth

LB:
ND - 3 - predicts Bowen/Sneed to start in heavy rotation with Ausberry and KVA, who he says would start for most schools
Miami - 26 - seems like they have some upperclassmen with late round draft grades, but no studs

Other unit rankings you didn't ask about
QB: ND 64, Miami 9
RB: ND 2, Miami 16
Receivers: ND 14, Miami 23
O-line: ND 3, Miami 6
DBs: ND 1, Miami 24
ST: ND 11, Miami 67

ND RB unit is 2nd? He lost me there.

What does everyone think the biggest difference between 2017 and 2025 will be?

I think it is that the 2017 head coach walked out the tunnel and peed down his leg. The 2025 head coach will walk out the tunnel and say:

Notre Dame’s coach is much better and their talent/depth is about 1,000x better

No, but Beck is at least a competent QB. Buchner is pretty much the exact opposite
Like other BK era Qbs, I am curious what would've happened if they just left his mechanics alone and let him ball. There were some good moments like SCAR where he looked very competent, then a few plays later I couldn't believe how bad of a play he'd make.

Been dabbling with AI to make some hype pictures.

This one freaking bangs:

At first glance it’s looks to me like the duck is dropping from the sky and is going to hit Freeman in the back of the head with a palm tree.

O/U looks too easy

Miami could easily score 13 or less. Pile of transfers and a shitty kicker failing to gel week 0 against CFP runner-up defense is more likely than not IMO. ND unproven QB not likely to light up the scoreboard with A+ ground game eating up clock. ND 24-13 type of game IMO. 24-10 if Young blocks a FG. The more I think about it the more I like the under.

Gut feeling is that our slot receivers and our TE group will have a big part in this game.

I’m leaving that o/u alone but did grab ND when the line was only -1.5.

I love this! Hopefully their staff and teams feels the same way.
This is hilarious. The reasoning behind assuming that both Carr and Minchey are stinking it up is that that Angeli transferred (to SYRACUSE) because he thought he was clearly better and didn't want to compete with the two lesser talents. Then it goes on about the 4 interceptions (in practice #1) and accuses Irish fans of mental gymnastics.

Wow...that's certainly a thought. Ancient Aliens-level thought.

IF we take off the Kelly Green Glasses... Penn State has two 1000 yard rushers returning. I don't think he is doing us a disservice ranking us 2nd when they also return their top backs.
Agree to hard disagree. Love is best in nation and Williams as 3rd string w the versatility/skill set he brings puts them head and shoulders above them.

I just have a feeling this game is a blowout. This ND team has something to prove.

I don't think it's a blowout, but I originally felt this one would look and feel much like A&M did last year to start the season, but as things get closer, I'm feeling more and more comfortable.

Absent a DRASTIC improvement from the new defensive coordinator, I feel ND is going to run the ball at will and not need Carr/Minchey to make many plays. I just don't think Miami has the horses up front to match our OL/ground game, even though Bain is a very good player.

Another thing that has been in the back of my mind, nothing to really consider too much since we're so far out from the game, is that hurricane season is starting to ramp up and the Atlantic has been busier by the day. ND's excellent run game would be mighty handy in severe weather in Miami at the beginning of September...

...barring having a stubborn coach who insists on passing during a tropical storm, that is.

Their suggested reasons for Angeli transferring are absurd. The rest isn't that far off. Their isn't an informed ND fan on the planet right now that feels better about the QB position today than they did a month ago .

Idk. I feel good about it. I think it is somewhat subterfuge, somewhat Kenny being very capable, as well.
