And its going to be funny when libs freak out when he acknowledges basic Catholic doctrine.

Turns out weirdos who spend their days fighting imaginary wars on social media will be mad that Catholicism doesn't follow their every desire.

Great year to be an American. We might be on track to a 'Leave It to Beaver' lifestyle once again.

So one doll, hand-me-down clothes, and tons of domestic abuse?

Or, to put a liberal spin on it to make Republicans hate it, de-growth, transgenderism, and equality of the sexes.

What's cool is that Trump foreshadowed an American Pope with that picture he posted.

No joke it seems like the most gung ho people on the Pope so far are protestants, atheists, and the "as someone who went to Catholic school" people.

I'm in chicago visiting my sister and the cathedral a bit north of downtown was swamped with news cameras. Kinda fun to see the "energy" or whatever

To INLaw: I'm no Republican, and tend to vote Democrat, but I have had moderate Republicans in Michigan that I greatly respected. Former governor William Milliken was one such, and former Representative Vernon Eilers was another. Both men considered every decision that they voted on or approved. Both men actually read the current environmental literature for instance. Eilers himself was a highly trained physicist --- he brought science and actual thought to the business of politics (often beyond any of his Democratic colleagues, let alone the Republicans.) So ... I know with certainty that such men existed in the past, and have hoped that others (like yourself) still do. Maybe some day (soon) you can make the Republican Party the actual Republican Party, and get rid of whatever this name-stealing abomination is.

I can't imagine Vernon Eilers sitting in House discussions and having to listen to the single digit IQ garbage coming out of the mouths of some of these recent electees (or cabinet members.)

This is probably an endangered animal in American politics. Ticket splitting used to be very normal (data shows it) relative to now.

The Republican Party is alive and well as the Democratic Party is. Problem is purity tests for every position from town dog catcher on up.

I vote for our local judge and he's basically a Bernie bro. He's a very competent judge though and good at that job... plus it's a nonpartisan election. Politics are largely unrelated to his job of handling state level crime and civil issues. If the people in town knew his opinions on politics he'd lose to me by 20-30 points, a baby lawyer without a clue how to do the job. And that's a shame.

This sure as hell isn’t your 80,90s Democratic Party either….. Both sides are full of irrational lunatics.

Agreed and it's the most exhausting part. Each side vaguely or not-so-vaguely hints at how the other is unhinged. Both are unhinged, both have jumped the shark; one side masquerades as the intellectual's party, while ushering in some of the most unscientific thought we've seen in hundreds of years. The other party has completely given itself over to a cultic figure who has wooed the Pentecostals and Zionists despite his absolute lack of humility.

What in the hell are we supposed to do with these diametrically opposed, pre-paid for parties?
