The president leaving is puzzling to most in the state. He's probably taking a pay cut to go to Florida and does not have nearly the influence.

Who is the assistant who will fill in for suspended Moore and cry after the game? Can't wait for the "Michigan vs the world" t-shirts to make a new appearance during weeks 3 and 4.

hes very much reviled for his stance on the Anti Genocide Protests and for not standing up to Trump's executive orders ala Harvard

Per an ESPN article, "In an August 2024 Notice of Allegations, the NCAA cited Michigan for 11 violations, six of which were deemed Level I, or the most serious. The school and the Association are working toward a resolution." It's been over 8 freakin' months and they are still "working" towards a resolution. If this was the Irish, they would have been cuffed and stuffed by the NCAA months ago. WTF

Everyone in that program said they did nothing wrong so what do they do? Hurry let’s give our head coach a self imposed suspension

The NCAA on so many occasions have shown they are afraid of litigation that any penalties will be minor and justify part of it because scUM suspended Moore.

Set yourself up for disappointment gents.
They have also thrown the book at programs for cheating in ways that had far less impact on the actual playing of games than this. All the various cheating and pay-for-play scandals over the years that have led to scholarship reductions, postseason bans and vacated wins didn't directly impact the sanctity of the game on the field. This did.

If it's lawsuits the NCAA worried about, they should be just as worried about lawsuits from Michigan's Big Ten rivals (the victims here) than from a program that by its own admission did something significant enough to warrant firing people and suspending their head coach. What ground would Michigan have to stand on? They've admitted guilt, it's just a matter of determining an appropriate sentence.

But, yes, fully prepared to be disappointed. I'm not new here.

I'm sure Michigan is prepared to flaunt a lawsuit against the NCAA over any penalties, but they did the same thing when the Big10 removed Harbaugh for 3 games and then they backed down when they realized they had no standing and would need to go through discovery in the legal process. Same thing holds true here, except this time, they are also dealing with the fallout from the Matt Weiss scandal and I can't imagine they want to run the risk of any more collateral damage coming from a drawn out legal process.

Their best bet is hoping the NCAA overreaches with their penalties and the penalties have no precedence. Although I'm not sure how you can have precedence for an infraction (i.e. organized, in-person sign stealing) that has literally never really occurred before or at the very least, been proven.

Would Michigan risk litigation and risk their dirty little secrets getting out? It’s one thing to have Stallions go on all these podcasts and brag about what they want to get out but this would open things up for the NCAA to at least start leaking stuff.

Didn’t realize it was self imposed. Missed that part in the ESPN notification

Edit: Wait scUM is starting the suspension in Week 3 because they’re scared of Oklahoma?? Get wrecked lol

Man such a sacrifice! Sitting out against nail biters like Central Michigan and Nebraska! What great character!

They pulled the same move during the initial investigation lol. They were fighting the charges going into 2023 I think, trying to avoid Hairball getting a suspension, and the NCAA said "That's fine, we'll just push this to the start of 2024." Michigan looked at the schedule and saw Texas in Week 2, and nothing but cupcakes to start 2023. "Uhh...nevermind, we'll take our suspension now in 2023, thanks!"
