Kelly released this statement yesterday:

"There are many things I can't say, pending litigation, but it is factually incorrect to state that I was not there by Greg's side through this ordeal," Kelly said. "I was there on multiple occasions. There was someone from my staff there virtually every day. We love Greg."

"It was important to me to set the record clear about my care and love for Greg Jr. during this difficult time. "

"You can question me as a football coach, but off the field as a parent and husband, this is where the line is drawn with me."

"That comment struck a nerve with me. It hit my heart."

"I want to be clear: any player who is a part of this program... I am going to be involved in making sure they receive the best care and the best support. And I'm a part of that."

As with most everything, the truth lies somewhere in the middle. This is a bad deal all around. I don't buy that Kelly or the LSU staff didn't speak to and/or visit Brooks. I just don't. Maybe I'm dead wrong - I hope not for humanity's sake - but I just don't believe it. Now, once litigation commenced, I certainly believe the lawyers representing LSU shut down all communications from school employees. But prior to that, I highly doubt it.

Sadly, we live in a litigious world, especially in Louisiana...The Brooks' family knows Our Lady of the Lake (and its doctors) and LSU have insurance. Does this arise to negligence...? I don't know...that's subjective. Regrettably, Michael Strahan's daughter going through the same thing as Greg Brooks. Evidently, she also said that she had vertigo and that she didn't respond to antihistamines and normal treatments. As time passed, Strahan said that he kept believing it was a normal, treatable condition. Then, once her balance started being adversely effected, they finally did an MRI. Meaning, Strahan's course of action was eerily similar to LSU's....

Look, I wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy. I doubt the tumor popped up in the span of a few weeks...given the initial symptoms, it sounds like these things are challenging to diagnose. That all said, the statements from the Brooks' family and LSU are at a 180°. Right now, we don't know what happened. I just hope and pray for (1) a healthy and speedy recovery for both Greg Brooks and Michael Strahan's daughter; (2) that Kelly and LSU did visit with and keep in touch with Greg Brooks; (3) that there wasn't anything sinister that went on (i.e., brazenly or negligently ignoring Brooks' health for football purposes); and (4) that any prior, incredulous statements from either side, if any, get cleared up.

I hate Kelly as much as the next guy, but that’s an extremely messed up allegation for the family and their attorney to say if not true.

Didn’t want to distract more in Martin’s thread, interesting off-season question: how many NFL Hall of Famers will BK have coached, without winning a title?

He will be at the Kelce and Martin ceremonies in back to back years. Another Kelce soon after. Nelson. Potentially an LSU player? Others?

Jayden Daniels would not be the QB he is today without Kelly/Denbrock/Sloan. Like it or not, Kelly was a big part of developing a Heisman winner, rookie Pro Bowler, and NFL Offensive Player of the Year (unanimous).

That said, the only reason Kelly got his hands on him is because Herm, Antonio Pierce, and Daniels' mother were old system cheaters who got caught.

Jayden Daniels had the physical tools to be a star, and BK & LSU staff got it out of him.

IMO, BK’s biggest QB victories were getting a monster year out of guys like Tony Pike and Ian Book.

Theo Von and Lane Kiffin truth tellin. I like Kiffin more now.
Hilarious, and I recommend everyone to watch/listen to the full podcast.

Kiffin really making the rounds on all the pods. Says he gave up alcohol and that has led to being so much healthier & a better father. He does look healthier. I’ll give him that. I think he reunited w/ his ex-wife as well.
