Can you imagine the blue hairs the first time the bass drops? Hilarious.

The thing about these stadium anthems is you have to sort of appeal to everyone. It can't be so hardcore that you scare kids and anger the olds with a bunch of f bombs and sexual innuendos. It has to be identifiable. It has to be pretty easy to sing. Jump Around. I Won't Back Down. Mr. Brightside. Sandstorm. Enter Sandman.

Here's a compromise for everyone. You go with Baba O'Riley for the blue hairs, but you use the Dropkick cover to give it a bit of an edge. It's classically identifiable. It's pretty easy to sing/learn the words. It's easy to get a little hype to and you could do some cool effects with the stadium lights. The olds are somewhat used to "Dropkick" already since we play "Shipping" and "The Boys are Back"

Do it between 3Q and 4Q. Profit.

If you disagree, you're just a closeted BC fan.

Edit: Honestly this is the best idea I've ever had. I think literally everyone could get down with this. The original itself is a kickass jam. But Dropkick gives it that Irish edge.

The drum intro is much better in the original, but this is an excellent idea.

I'm surprised no one has suggested Hall & Oates or Benny Goodman.

I could stop Derrick Henry on 4th and 1 if I had the drum solo from In The Air Tonight was playing at the same time.
I was at one of the original white out games at Penn State back in the early 2000's. I think it was Ohio State. I remember tailgating outside the stadium at around 7 pm when people were just starting to go in. The stadium was blasting In the Air Tonight and I was getting chills. Felt like I was about to watch Maximus Decimus Meridius battle.

Even a five star is only as good as his teammates.

"Hi I'm Marcus Aurelius, and I'm publicly nearing death. I'm just going to tell my son Commodus that I'm not making him emperor with no witnesses around real quick."

I love the movie but this kills me every single time I legit can’t get past it. lol. What’s worse is that MA had recent historical knowledge that nearly guaranteed a power struggle would occur.

It's a movie that absolutely thrives on its iconography but falls apart when you think about what any character does for more than 5 seconds.

Commodus not immediately killing Maximus when he first reveals himself is an all time fumble. "But the crowd loves him!", like who cares? Guy letting the only human on Earth who knows for a fact that he shouldn't be Emperor and has friends in the military hang around because he's afraid of a week of bad press. Kill him on the same week you announce free wine pours at the temple.

would be nice if we had something like this...

I mean half the seats in that flyover were empty, but yes Neyland is impressive and Tennessee has a great media team. The movie trailer-fication of "Wish That I Was On Old Rocky Top" is so good it makes me angry.

SC can really turn it up for big games

The energy in that stadium is incredible. I went to a number of games there when we lived in SC.

The company I worked for while living down there was a major sponsor for USC. We were a primary sponsor for a game against Florida one season. We had sideline passes and received a game ball prior to the start of the game. I was able to stay on the sideline through the first quarter. When Sandstorm gets rolling it is amazing. I had chills being able to be down on the filed for that and taking it all in. One of the coolest experiences I've ever had.

They do though, have you been a night game? They do all of this "turn off the lights" shit. Night games at ND are pretty hype. I know not everyone likes the 7:30 kick but it blows the atmosphere of the 3:30 kicks out of the water.

It might not be on Neyland Stadium's level of noise, but they have the effects you showed in that video.

I have only been to the stadium once and I am no engineer but it the top of the stadium to wide?

I went to the BC game 2 years ago in the cold and snowy temps and it seemed like the crowd was loud it just doesn’t seem to hold the noise.

Just checked out the Tenn Football teams Twitter and it's so much better than what ND is putting out

Yep. It's a very very different energy, in a good way.

Doesn't matter if a song is 50 years old, 20 years old or new. As long as it has a catchy beat fans of any age will engage.
As a former failed dance music DJ, DJ Artzek..id be happy to provide some examples lol

It feels like ND Stadium rises to the moment during the big games. Probably going back to 1988 Miami.

I was at the 2005 USC game and every other game I've been to has not been remotely close to being as intense as that night was. I would say that game ranks up there with 88 Miami and 93 Florida State as far as atmosphere goes. Only difference was the result.

My dad and I were at the 2006 Stanford game. A very comfortable, uneventful 31-10 victory. Pleasant Saturday evening.

The next week we were at the UCLA game. Samardzija scored at the end. 20-17 win. It went from a frustrating 3 3/4 quarters to pure bedlam and joy.

It's clear some of ya'll haven't been to any big night games recently. They did similar stuff as UT for the OSU game last year. They also gave out LED wristbands that were programmed to light up on cue. Post game it's just a paper weight on my desk though. I think shirts/towels would have been better.

Has ND ever done Pyrotechnics? That seems like a no brainer to me.

Yes, but only after the games. Last year they did for the night game we won (USC?). It was implied that they had a big show planned for the OSU game as well but obviously that didn't work out.

I would hope so since this is the only night game of the year and there will be a lot of recruits. Nothing to save the budget for.

I hope they don't hold off given the probability of rain.

I was at the OSU game and I might be in the minority here but the wristbands were... eh. I went to the game with a wide range of fans (an OSU fan, a couple of other B1G school alums, and an SEC fan), and when the light show was over even they were like "That was it?". 100% agree with the bolded though.

At the core, it comes down to the matchup, the buy-in from fans, and the belief in winning. Jump Around for the Wisconsin v PSU game was fun as always but when it was over the crowd died because everyone in the building knew the PSU was winning that game.

Yeah, the wrist bands didn't seem to work as intended.
