I'm gonna interrupt our regularly scheduled programing to say that the issue at hand is less to do with DJ music and way more to do with fans sitting on their ass the entire game and not cheering. It's not rocket science.

I don't think modern music is going to get the gold seats "turnt."

No, but it could result in them staying home.
For all the changes to the stadium and traditions since '96, sadly the only thing that seems to keep the blue hairs home is when the team tanks. That's been my experience with the family having season tickets down there from '96-'22. At that point they either give their tickets away to younger family members, or they sell them off.

So.... real talk.... I went to the CMU game last year and the Stanford game this year and I got to say, the crowd environment was more than more than disappointing to me. My wife is a UGA girl and we go to at least one SEC game or Clemson game a year with various family memebrs and its night and day. My wife was at the USC/TAM game with my son (I stayed home) and she said there was really no comparison between that game and the ND/Stanford or ND/CMU game (obviously the caliber of team matters and night versus day). I was really shocked at how poor the home environment was during games.

Although I will say all of us absolutely love when they play the Dune song on 3rd down. That shit is great.

All Phil Collins. That dude put out straight bangers for the Tarzan soundtrack
Got a crucial 3rd down and D needs to step up. As the defensive tanks approach the line to prevent a first down and the Lbs get everyone in the right position to make a play, the crowd is going nuts and you can barely hear the person next to you and that’s when the DJ plays….

She seems to have an invisible touch yeah….
She seems to have an invisible… oh oh. Oh oh….

I could stop Derrick Henry on 4th and 1 if I had the drum solo from In The Air Tonight was playing at the same time.

No...no Phil Collins. That guy is secretly a cyborg from the future, sent back in time to destroy mankind. That's why his voice always sounds synthesized. We need to destroy the Collins-Bot 3000 before humanity is wiped out.

I know they do it every now and then, but 1:53 on should be a mandatory play at least once every game:

I'm sure it's been played other times, but the only time I can distinctly remember they played this was 2012 Pitt when we were behind. Crowd absolutely loved it, and of course we came back to tie it up and then win in OT.

Can you imagine the blue hairs the first time the bass drops? Hilarious.

The thing about these stadium anthems is you have to sort of appeal to everyone. It can't be so hardcore that you scare kids and anger the olds with a bunch of f bombs and sexual innuendos. It has to be identifiable. It has to be pretty easy to sing. Jump Around. I Won't Back Down. Mr. Brightside. Sandstorm. Enter Sandman.

Here's a compromise for everyone. You go with Baba O'Riley for the blue hairs, but you use the Dropkick cover to give it a bit of an edge. It's classically identifiable. It's pretty easy to sing/learn the words. It's easy to get a little hype to and you could do some cool effects with the stadium lights. The olds are somewhat used to "Dropkick" already since we play "Shipping" and "The Boys are Back"

Do it between 3Q and 4Q. Profit.

If you disagree, you're just a closeted BC fan.

Edit: Honestly this is the best idea I've ever had. I think literally everyone could get down with this. The original itself is a kickass jam. But Dropkick gives it that Irish edge.

Actually not a bad idea. The song isn’t great, but not a terrible idea. I’d have them redo the song or have them do a different cover.
