Changes to atmosphere in ND Stadium?

O’Malley has been ragging on the game day experience Saturday. He called it beyond lame in a few different threads but didn’t really give specifics.

Just curious what anyone here has to offer on the subject. I can only imagine how bad the music selection was.

EDIT I’m not asking for changes you would make. I’m asking what actually changed this year because it seems like it somehow got worse from previous years.

Music selection has been garbage for years. Day games, in general, are really bad.

I have a hard time believing there’s a worse home field advantage, amongst the teams that are usually ranked.
I was at Illinois Saturday. Was pretty bad as well.

The criticism I've seen is in regards to crowd noise and intimidation factor. Both those things are pretty low at ND , although it is louder now after the stadium renovations.

Notre Dame is the least intimidating place on the planet unless it's November.

It's expensive, the people who go are very old lol. It's wine and cheese types sadly. It is what it is.

The DJ was so laughable. Like I think that's generally something that could work at a place like Miami, but having the dude pretend to spin the disks while playing Welcome to the Jungle on his spotify was just an incredibly poor execution of an idea that sucked to begin with
The DJ and the lady who is supposed to "amp up" the crowd are both kind of cringe.

What’s the South Bend and surrounding areas like? A lot of ND fans, or a good mixture?

Not a high percentage of fans live within 4 hours of SB, imo.

It's not surprising considering the large number of wine and cheese fans who attend every game. It also doesn't help that the faculty, who hate football and pretty much everything the University stands for, often sell their tickets to wine and cheese folks or opposing fans, even for the big games.

Sell beer & seltzers. Seems silly to have it in luxury boxes but the normal folk who actually can cheer don’t get a taste.

Replace the DJ & the 3rd down songs

Don’t play stupid promos on the screen that are intended to hype up the crowd. If it’s a PSA about one of the educational depts, fine; but they try to hard on the hype stuff.

But what solves most, if not all; problems…QUIT PLAYING DOWN TO THE LEVEL OF COMPETITION & EMBARRASSING THEMSELVES, THE UNIVERSITY, THE PARENTS & THE FANS.

If they're going to play PSA's, then they should create some promoting a new NIL collective that fans can donate to. SEC schools do that on their jumbotrons.

I think it's been discussed that the ND powers that be feel this tactic is "beneath them".

tbh opposing fans bring more atmosphere than the wine and cheese crowd
