I find it hard to believe this shadow of a former Michigan which even at its height lived off a vile combination of rhetoric and stolen valor is capable of outspending osu and out prestiging us.

Some of you must be new to recruiting because rule #1 is 'Take post visit interviews, done by team sites that have a financial stake in driving clicks, with a huge grain of salt'.

Interview them 7 days later and things are often more measured in tone.

Rule #2 - Recruits know the game and they play it.

Every visit was great and surpassed expectations. X is at the top of my list.

Even if the visit to X stunk the recruit is never going to say that because they have a TV announcement to make and they want/need drama for viewers.

NOB visited ND 2 weeks ago and waxed effusive. He moved up his announcement timeline after the ND visit. He sang Al Golden's praises for the USC game plan, and said that's the type of defense I see myself in. Network people CB'd him to ND. USC was NDs main competition for NOB.

Two days at Michigan, and after reading Michigan's site operators early reports, several ND fans here have tossed in the towel. It's over!

Relax folks. He may indeed end up at Michigan but I truly doubt they leapfrogged ND in 2 days. ND has a relationship here going back years. There is a comfort level with ND that Michigan simply doesn't have. If NOB wants to play with his boys then Michigan is in a strong position. But if he wanted to play with his boys why wasn't Michigan always at the top of his list?

Hehe. Click on my name. I registered here in 2005.You registered here in 2008.

I see the TIC aspect in your reply. I'm just pointing out that I've followed this long enough to know the 'known knowns' of recruiting.

Top 5 of ND, USC, Michigan, OSU, and Florida.

Hard to see this one ending soon unless he randomly pops one day

Good grief. What kind of monster class do they have THIS year.
No kidding!

OSU is just not having it anymore

Michigan is going to rue the day they beat them 3x in a row

Looks another decade or so of a** whippings is getting lined up for them again

The article says that with JOK being his brother and a Butkis winner at ND, Fong indicated "he has been around that program alot." I thought I heard that his official visit was the first time the brothers had been on ND campus at the same time, meaning he had never been there while JOK was a player here. And wasn't there only one other visit this year?

Not to derail this thread, but not really.

That program is Charmin soft with Ryan Day at HC. He's the most overrated coach in college football. It still pisses me off that Freeman and Parker let them off the hook last year.

I think about it once a week at least.

not a take for ohio st right now.
This 100% is NOT true.

After he left his visit the OSU sites said OSU didn’t get any traction with him & it was obvious so they immediately pivoted to others.
The Birm guy said NOB was their top LB target and they even met with him about NIL.

OSU wanted Faraimo & NOB.
Once they realized they weren’t getting them they transitioned to others.
But they knew they were on the outside looking in with NOB going into his visit.
But if he wanted to commit, they would have done cartwheels & backflips.

If he commits to:

ND = Praise Baby Lord Jesus!
OSU = Wow that sucks, but I get it.
UF = Wow that sucks, and I don't get it.
USC = I get the appeal, but seriously? Their defensive is hot garbage. Riley aint about that side of the ball.
UM = Excuse me while I go jump off this bridge into shark infested waters.

I think the longer he waits to commit allows the buzz of his Michigan visit to fade hopefully and also brings him back to remembering what he loves about ND

The one thing that bothers me...is it really true he only visited ND once with his brother? He never went to ND for games? If true, I think people are overemphasizing the brother connection here...
