Circa has been banned for a year...at least for the time being.

The other day he helped turn the Freeze thread into a political thread which warranted a warning. I was not going to ban him as he has been here for sometime and though a bit of an unusual poster, he doesn't usually stir up trouble (at least from what I have seen, I don't venture into the political threads).

But his reaction today in the Freeze thread when he thought he was banned is enough to warrant a time out. And it might be good for him.

Please remember that I and the other mods want everyone to be able to enjoy the board. None of us are looking to ban anyone but I'm not going to have small groups of individuals ruin the site for the rest of us. If you get a warning, it is just that -- a warning. It's a virtual slap on the wrist to remind you to act civil and keep on with the purpose of the thread.

Why? NFL and NBA teams have hand over their fields, courts, and helmets to political slogans. ESPN's a sinking liberal ship that's political every single day. Our country is objectivelt circling the toilet the past 3 years, and the NFL, NBA, even the MLB are making it part of their product.

Why is someone a bad guy for playing the new game the entities we love have created. Just food for thought. I don't think Circa is "unwell" and it's unfair to run that when he can't defend himself IMO.

If you don’t think Circa is unwell then you probably didn’t read his final few posts. If you did read his final posts and see nothing wrong with it then you need to take a long look in the mirror.

I hate to see Circa go, but I don't see any way you can overlook that post and let it slide. I think he's going through some stuff. He sent me a PM last week apologizing for some minor dust up and wishing me well. Seems like a good dude, but maybe has some stuff going on. I hope he gets things sorted out, has a good 2024, and makes it back into the fold at IE as soon as possible.

I didn't see his final few posts, you are correct. At same time the way you lean is abundantly clear so I wouldn't take your word for it, no offense.

I have to axe with Circa and even stuck up for him years ago a few times but today was inexcusable, vile, and filled with hate. The break is needed and I hope he gets help.

You missed the point I was trying to make (ie, how politicas has purposely spilled into sports at the highest level).

I have zero opinion on his final posts and haven't commented on such.

The concept I responded to right at top of page: "Political quips and diatribes in sports threads are major red flags for instability".

I disagree, that's the state of the state and it's started at the highest levels (literally part of the product now in the sports we watch). If you don't want to engage in or address how the dynamics have intentionally changed that's fine, but the straw man to appease the cheap seats lands flat.

This is larger than circa or any individual poster but doubt you're intrested in macro level stuff, which is fine

As long as Circa is back for the gameday threads next season…idk if he’s trying to be funny, but his posts in there always provide a little levity.

In that notorious post he made if he had of just replace the word “you” with “Michigan” each time, he would have been the hero of the thread. Go back and look at it it works well.
