What a career for the big guy. I remember texting my cousin, who is a big MSU fan, when he committed to ND, and told him ‘thank you’. That size and speed was lethal and hope he can carry it over into the NFL.
Thanks AE!

After Jaylon I have no qualms with guys sitting out bowl games. I want to win every game, but one wrong cut can cost them millions. He went out with a 4 TD dominant performance.
Same feeling here. Kyren and Audric did PLENTY in their times. Stay healthy. Go rep ND in the league. Thanks for the memories.

I loved watching Kyren. He was my favorite player. Big AE almost made me forget about him.

Tbf Jaylon said if he had the chance to do it again, he would have still played in the bowl game

I remember being so bummed when we missed out on Shipley. We got Diggs and Estime. Estime became one of my favorite players of the last 20 years. Always smiling. Just loved playing football. Hope he crushes it in the NFL like Kyren

Or maybe he just loves playing football?

I loved playing football too, but saying that you would knowingly injure yourself, shorten your career significantly, and lose millions of dollars to play in a pretty forgettable loss is a well-intentioned macho lie. I don't blame him for saying it, because what else are you supposed to say? "Shit, I should've faked a cramp during warm-ups" doesn't sound great.

Obviously no way to prove it, but I would bet big money that if Jaylon was playing in 2023, he'd be sitting out the Sun Bowl.

He didn’t want him to let down his ship captain, the unsinkable Joe Schmidt.

Joe taught him it doesn’t matter if you are good at football, if you practice the right way, BK will make all of your dreams come true.

Gonna miss him, don't have a problem with sitting out a glorified exhibition game.

It’s been bothering me for years. We beat Okie State if we give the ball to AE in the second half of the fiesta bowl. He had one run where he slipped due to the surface and never got another touch. Sorry, had to let that out.

He was just a Frosh at the time with very little game reps under his belt. We also weren't running the ball well against them. Biggest problem was the same problem we had all year, Lenzy and Austin couldn't beat tight coverage. We blew a lot of drives throwing their way. Styles was still hot, as was Mayer and Tyree was getting passes out of the backfield.

I’d love to see someone grab him in round 2. It’s going to take a really good 40 time at Combine or pro day but good lord he’s got great film to go along w what will surely be a great interview and some really good strength numbers.

We also beat O$U if we keep (both years) if we just keep pounding it with him.

We are going to miss this fella.

That Clemson game was the most frustrating loss for me. Even Clemson fans were expecting an ND victory. Sure Hartman had an off day but if they run Estime more I think ND wins regardless of Hartman’s picks. That first series showed me the run game was working. Then it was abandoned.

I am curious to see his 40 time. I think he breaks 4.5 which should solidify him as a top RB with bellcow ability.
