He'll be fine. Probably goes from a Day 2 pick to Rounds 3-4, but teams aren't going to ignore his production just because his 40 time wasn't great.
He also will have an opportunity to improve the time at ND's pro day.

I really thought he’s run in the low 4.5s
Can he be a good nfl rb, or course. But this puts him way behind and way more of a risk. It’s not normal to be that slow to get going at rb (we know he has good top end speed) and be really good in the nfl.

He can actually run away from lb, he just takes too long to get going for nfl unless he’s on elite offense with top oline
I’d want him all day on my team but I’m not using a top 4 round pick unless he improves time

Someone screwed up having him run the 40…. If you are a rb and not confident to break 4.6, you don’t run…. He would have been a million $$$ times better off not going to combine than going and running that 40

Running backs are worth pennies in the draft unless its a God-like prospect and you are anticipating making a run at the Super Bowl in the next few years

The NFL game has changed and running backs aren’t drafted that high anymore. The Chiefs just won with a 7th rounder.

I love estime, but that time would concern me since he struggles at times getting outside tackles

He does have good feet but agility is ability to move quick, that’s not him

I think estime is unique, but I’m incredibly shocked his 40 was that bad. It absolutely should make any team really interested in him re evaluate him. I hate saying it, but 4.7 is an awful time.

For reference Sam Hartman ran a 4.8. Running a 4.7 as a RB just isn’t an awesome look, even if you’re a bruiser.
I still think Estime massively succeeds in the NFL, but this will probably make most teams doubt him a bit.

NFL teams don’t give a shit about his 40 time, his game isn’t built for speed. He may have hurt his draft stock a little bit but the team that drafts him is most certainly drafting him for his strength and size in the short yard red zone. I’d be stunned if he doesn’t have atleast a decent NFL career
