He's not a home run back. He's a bruiser. 4.7 is fine for him. I see him as a Zach Moss type. Productive.

No one expected him to run sub 4.5, but if he had it would have had a huge impact on him having a shot as top rb … now no shot
It's a dumb point to argue because he was never running that. But to suggest it is even more idiotic because he was never getting to the first round

I still think Estime massively succeeds in the NFL, but this will probably make most teams doubt him a bit.
Agreed. It's what happened to Kyren after he ran 4.65 while weighing only 194lbs. His draft stock went down despite his game film which showed elite traits everywhere else. Teams passed on him and he dropped to the 5th round. As we all know, he's a pro bowler now.

Unfortunately, reactions like we're seeing in this thread also happen in NFL front offices. There are a lot of bad GMs despite the millions of dollars they are paid to not be bad.

Audric doesn't have great straight-line speed but his feet, power, vision, and patience are elite. People also forget he's extremely good at catching the ball out of the backfield. If he's thrown a catchable ball he catches it.

There will be teams that will pass on him mainly because of his 40-time but I think they'll end up regretting it.

He was always going in the 4th or 5th round and this doesn’t change that. Expect him to improve at his pro day. The broad jump and vertical are more indicative of the type of player he is as well as the missed tackles he makes happen. I’d be more interested in his 10 yard split anyway. Kids a great back and will be an excellent pro for my NY Giants.

Kyren ran a 4.65 at the combine and was an all pro last year. I agree he probably shouldn’t have ran if he was consistently putting up those times in the lead up. If he can improve at the pro day it will help his stock.

I now think he will be undrafted but will be a contributor on a team this year.
Nah someone will take him. Leveon Bell ran a 4.6 and went round 2...granted he was 10 pounds heavier and a couple inches taller...but someone will get Estime day 3 and have a solid contributor

Agree…. Just not good when you talk about proving you’re top rb at combine then run 4.7

I read that RB's who have run as poorly as he did (+4.7) have not fared well in the NFL. I hope he bucks that trend. Unfortunately, I feel it will hurt his draft position.

Surprised he wasn't 4.6 game film shows open field burst but he will have to run in the 4.6s at the pro day to boost his stock back up hopefully it was just a bad day

Yeah I always thought he was hesitating a bit when not an obvious hole but possibly he’s just slow to get goin

Never high on his NFL prospects because I'm unconvinced that his excellent feet can make up for his other lack of elite physical traits. Teams want a back that can at least run away from linebackers and trailing DTs. Most NFL LBs are going to be able to catch him.

He's a rd 5 pick (2nd/3rd rd pick, back in the day)at best and I hope he makes it to 5 years. I would be pleasantly surprised and thrilled for him if he did. He doesn't have elite size (looks great, but he's avg ht and wt for an rb right now🤯) and is slow. I never saw him as a great short yardage back either. If we were in the 80s/90s we are talking about a 10 year career of grinding out 3-15 yard gains with a floor of....well bust, but imo, rodney hampton and a peak of shaun alexander.

I hope he gets drafted by the preseason hard knocks team....everyone should know about and enjoy his crooning.

Know this is an extreme comparison but emmitt smith was a 4.7 40 so it’s not like it’s impossible as a stouter back to make it with that speed.

Don't confuse slow feet with getting from one point A to point B in a desired time. He has elite feet where it matters in football for a bigger back.
Idk about that did you see the one drill designed to see foot quickness? It didn’t look smooth at all. It doesn’t look like he prepared well at all for this combine

Agree… he looked like he just focused on losing weight for it vs learning how to perfect the drills

The Combine is dumb. There's years of tape of these guys playing big-time football against high-level competition but yeah let's obsess over how fast they sprint 40 yards in shorts and do some cone drills.
