We are still pretty much running a 4-2-5. Almost completely taking away the pass other than if the QB buys time scrambling.im not sure the defense is as good as the stats show. against UTS ND only had 1 sack and had very few havoc plays. i have my doubts that the defense will all of a sudden improve against better competition.
The question is can you run on ND's front 6. It seems to me like ND believes they can stop/slow down the run with 6 to where you aren't getting many first downs without throwing. IF ND holds you to a no or minimal gain run play, you are in trouble. Both teams have had athletic QBs including this week. I would expect a similar approach of not having the DLine sprinting upfield, and letting the LBs do the chasing. With that said, I thought Betrand/Liafau have done a poor job chasing/containing.
I expect we'll see a lot of 3rd and 5's for NC state, can armstrong keep drives going with legs/big time throws?
