Great, can't wait to see him hand the ball off.
My post above was a total joke but if this actually happens it wouldn't surprise me to see him throw a legit fit on the sideline at some point. He's entitled douche of the highest order that would likely malfunction if this occurred. So Phil is going to lose to ND and BC next year. Far out.
To be fairThere's 130+ FBS schools and he had to choose one of the few that ND plays next year. Feels a little like he's obsessed.

We need to intercept this dude no less than three times.
Can't wait for another year of west PA dorks claiming we'd have 3 NCs if he was just given the QB job from day 1. And nevermind that he couldn't beat out noodle arm Ian Book, couldn't figure it out at Backup College, and is now onto his 3rd program, he's also going to be the #1 QB in the board for the upcoming NFL draft. It's weirdly pathetic at this point.
I don't find it weird, I just find it straight pathetic. The more his career becomes irrelevant the more he needs to ND to be so.It's weirdly pathetic at this point.
He looks like he’s 45.
I think this is the answer to the question. ND is good for business and the media have found a guy that's been "scorned" and willing to sound like a dbag to drag down ND.Remember, he transferred from Notre Dame because:
1. He couldn't beat out Ian Book
2. He was bad at football and wasn't progressing
3. Coaching staff gripes, probably some legitimate (Long) and some illegitimate (Rees/Kelly). But that offense was toxic so I'm not overly going to judge.
What would've happened if he went to Pitt? 0% chance he beats out Kenny Pickett who was a 1st round draft pick and a '17 recruit. Never would've played, definitely would've transferred. Likely would be on his 3rd school talking blaming something like "local pressure" for him staying home when he "should've" gone to ND and grew up a ND fan. It would just be a bizzaro world situation of him still being bad at football with poor mechanics/accuracy and people talking about how he had this physical tools to be a great player.
Biggest question is how/why the press keeps giving him the time of day and why he keeps running his mouth.
You know who also suffered adversity at the QB position at ND? Avery Davis. Could not be any more different in the way they handled it.
