Narduzzi loves a blocking WR…does Styles SR think programs are gonna be offering his son starting berths? I can't imagine many high powered P5 teams would make that promise.

That was my first thought. He is on record as saying he’s better suited for the defense. II quoted him on their podcast from a day ago saying that. Problem is he’s got two years of burn and is just now switching sides of the LOS. Good luck to him.Rumor is he's headed to Ohio State to play DB.
To be fair, that has been the rumor since the end of the 2021 season.
Does he think he's going to walk in and start there?
The whole thing is weird.
Oh I’m not really going after him for the reply. I get why an online parent would reply to that observation. And I get why he feels his son can do more than he was doing at Notre Dame - I’d hope *every* parent gasses up their kids. What parent wouldn’t respond to Sampson’s tweet.??
Same. I really thought he'd takeoff after a strong freshman season, he looked hungry and talented compared to what we were fielding with Del in 2021. I get there were QB issues last season, but he just didn't look like the same player when he did get opportunities. So disappointing. Probably the most wrong I’ve ever been about a player.
Seems like a confusing move. He's going to switch to Ohio State who probably has a deeper DB room and he hasn't been playing the position for the last 2 years. I get the family connection, but from a playing time standpoint I think he would have been better off staying. Good luck I guess!Rumor is he's headed to Ohio State to play DB.
Our wrs were significantly better in 2021 than 2022, and they were not great in 21. We needed to have Austin back last year.Same. Jigga has the absolute best off color lines. May I please use fuck fuck of a shit show? I will give you proper attribution.Stuckey is going into his second season with the program. He's got his quartet of true freshman dogs in the room now and Sam Hartman at QB. Maybe you're turning up the heat, but I don't think it will be the case with Freeman and Parker unless it ends up a total fuck fuck of a shit show.
This ⬆️He's a really good athlete that's probably been hearing about OSU's record/success ever since he committed to ND...
He probably believes he’s good enough to play either side of the ball for anybody, whether or not the confidence is warranted.
Also, OSU fans haven’t been thrilled with their depth in the secondary for the past couple of years now from what I’ve read, so if they even half know what they’re talking about, Styles will walk in and at least play the role he is being asked to switch to at ND, maybe more if he’s the athlete the whole beat would have us believe.

I’m not really sure other than Tobias how anyone could think Thomas or colzie are going to be game changers. Thomas could be a good 2nd or 3rd option. Tobias needs to be the alpha.
I agree that styles was not good in 22. Aren’t we supposed to have a great wr coach and the best trainer? Styles got heavy, stiff, and mentally was somewhere not good coming off a monster bowl game vs ok state.
To me styles was the player that needed to rise up to help our offense.l explode this year. I like Thomas and Tobias, tyree will have some big plays, frosh tbd. Not sold on colzie.
If you’re too stiff for wr you’re definitely too stiff for db.
Right. Hard to rate wrs when the qb couldn’t throw the ball farther than 20 yards and 95% of passes went to MayerPretty hard to grade most of the receivers in 2022 given the limitations at QB. Styles had obvious issues with drops, and Tobias had some mental mistakes early, but the others did fairly well given the limited number of targets their way.
I am just happy that Tobias didn't hit the portal after last year. They better open up this offense big time this year.Right. Hard to rate wrs when the qb couldn’t throw the ball farther than 20 yards and 95% of passes went to Mayer
Disagree he struggled last year catching the ball and clearly wasn't making a jump in camp at WR they staff gave him an opportunity to play corner?
Total head scratcher. That they let him speak to the media. The staff probably knew at this point he was gone. Let’s someone who wants to be here have that spot.
No path to PT at CB for him at ND. He'd be CB6 at best.Thamel now reporting that he plans to be a DB wherever he lands… not sure why he wouldn’t just be staying at ND then.
If he wanted to stay at WR and wasn’t given that option, I’d get it.
The only logical explanation is that they told him a hard “no” on being a safety, and the cornerback position is too healthy for a guy knocking the rust off, so he sees a quicker path the playing time at either CB or S elsewhere.
Until his decision shows otherwise, smart money says OSU used his brother and dad to sell him on playing next-to/behind his brother.
Yeah. And why would we tell him a hard no on safety? He's a good enough athlete and we're so thin there. None of it makes a lot of sense. If it's OSU I kind of get it. Otherwise, the only other explanation is he wanted/needed a change of scene.Thamel now reporting that he plans to be a DB wherever he lands… not sure why he wouldn’t just be staying at ND then.

Also the guys coming up behind him.Could be that too.
The ironic parts is that if this had happened LAST off season, when we all suspected [worried] it might, it would have been an ND-wide fandom meltdown of epic proportions. Would have been viewed is one of the biggest transfer portal losses since Aaron Lynch, maybe even bigger than that, because of the questions at the WR position.
But even with some remaining questions presently and a lack of overall experience... the season he had last year really softened the blow. Funny how things go sometimes.
Why is it hilarious? Do you have kids? I certainly don’t think their reaction as parents is hilarious.Dude did nothing at ND. His parents being touchy about that is hilarious. No big loss in any way.
