This is somewhere ND should be able to leave no doubt and put forth a NIL plan to leave no doubt in negotiation/conversation

Without any worry of interpretation of the rules with regards to HS prospects

Pass rusher is so deep every year. IDK why he wouldn't come back if he could

i think it's better than giving them two personally. no different than a kid leaving early as a JR at other schools.

I don't think it's a good look. It's a tough decision to transfer for some kids, and sometimes that decision is made during bowl prep or the period after. Any player who graduates should be allowed to run out on the field on Senior Day with his family waiting to embrace him.

I tend to agree with this. For many of these guys there's a lot up in the air still about whether they're back next year or not, and the downside of someone like Justin Ademilola having two Senior Days is, what, exactly?

That said, the key word here is "graduates" (or is on track to graduate soon). I don't think three-and-outs should do Senior Day. Not sure what I think of guys who transfer in for a year doing it (be they undergrads like Joseph or GTs).

Sticking four-ish years at Notre Dame ought to mean something, and this is a way to signal that and honor those people.

Except they will have earned their degrees. Isn't that the whole point of this thing? To celebrate the kids that stuck around long enough to get their degrees before moving on? If it bothers people to give them two (which I don't understand, but ok), then cut out the second one.

Yep. Senior day should be a celebration of the achievement of graduating (or being on track to graduate in the spring) rather than the achievement of exhausting their football eligibility.

i dont know graduation is for the achievement of graduating.

on the other hand if you are a senior and it is likely to be your last game at ND, that is what the moment is about.

that's pretty much my feelings. football and school are different animals and deserve separate honors. Sr day, football. Graduation, academics. Not knocking one or the other, just my feelings.

Degrees in hand, maybe I can see this. I just think it is weird to do it twice, just my feelings.

Maybe they should change it from senior day to graduation day. That way like you say anyone can walk with their parents the year they get their undergrad degree but if you come back as grad student you don't get to walk again. That seems like a pretty good idea to me.

Not sure I like that. So player on the fence doesn't get his moment with his parents?
Was just gonna say; what's the harm in giving them their moment, give them some time to figure things out? What's the issue with giving them a second ovation for 6 years of blood, sweat and tears? Putting unnecessary pressure on the kids.

So they don’t do it a second time. I think Freeman’s intentions are good, but it should be the other way around.
as I said yesterday, I really don't see the harm in giving a guy two ovations after he's given the program so much over a 4-6 year span.

What's the downside in Jason A getting two senior days? Give the young man some time to make a decision. But dont take away a moment he's earned one way or another before his mind is made up.

I think the question here is if no senior day is better than two senior days for a player. Personally, if they think they are headed out, sure, give them one. If they come back, no harm no foul. Have another. I'd rather someone be recognized twice than not be recognized at all.

This is *most likely* a prime example of why @IrishLax has pounded the table to make sure the current roster is taken care of first with regard to NIL. Not only do you lose Foskey, but now the guy that has played a ton that was expected to step into the role may be headed out.

Regardless of looking for NIL payday elsewhere or just a fresh start, some $$$ to stay definitely doesn’t make the decision easier to bounce.

Great now we really gotta run the ball next season, just to keep the defense off the field
