MF said in his presser this week that only players who are definitely leaving will be honored on senior day so keep an eye on this one
I tend to agree with this. For many of these guys there's a lot up in the air still about whether they're back next year or not, and the downside of someone like Justin Ademilola having two Senior Days is, what, exactly?I don't think it's a good look. It's a tough decision to transfer for some kids, and sometimes that decision is made during bowl prep or the period after. Any player who graduates should be allowed to run out on the field on Senior Day with his family waiting to embrace him.
i think it's better than giving them two personally. no different than a kid leaving early as a JR at other schools.
Yep. Senior day should be a celebration of the achievement of graduating (or being on track to graduate in the spring) rather than the achievement of exhausting their football eligibility.I don't think it's a good look. i dont know graduation is for the achievement of graduating.
on the other hand if you are a senior and it is likely to be your last game at ND, that is what the moment is about.
Except they will have earned their degrees. Isn't that the whole point of this thing? To celebrate the kids that stuck around long enough to get their degrees before moving on? If it bothers people to give them two (which I don't understand, but ok), then cut out the second one.
Maybe they should change it from senior day to graduation day. That way like you say anyone can walk with their parents the year they get their undergrad degree but if you come back as grad student you don't get to walk again. That seems like a pretty good idea to me.I don't think it's a good look. It's a tough decision to transfer for some kids, and sometimes that decision is made during bowl prep or the period after. Was just gonna say; what's the harm in giving them their moment, give them some time to figure things out? What's the issue with giving them a second ovation for 6 years of blood, sweat and tears? Putting unnecessary pressure on the kids. Not sure I like that. So player on the fence doesn't get his moment with his parents?
as I said yesterday, I really don't see the harm in giving a guy two ovations after he's given the program so much over a 4-6 year span.So they don’t do it a second time. I think Freeman’s intentions are good, but it should be the other way around.
Speaking from experience? Or speaking for Justin A?Doesn’t really make it special if it’s done twice
