Wow! Getting caught up on this thread and haven’t witnessed a rant/attack in over 10 years but then again I don’t wander into the other threads on this site beyond the football thread.
I would think only a drunk relative of Pynes would get on here to defend him and his play in our last three games and our two embarrassing losses. The fact that he didn’t lose these games due to miss thrown balls or tipped passes is a lucky break. I’ve never seen the board calling for anyone under center besides him like I’ve seen it this year. We have won in spite of him being back there. Every team we have played hs started a better QB than we have and that include UNLV and their backups. How well would Stanford be if drew Oyne were back there?! If he were we would have shit out Stanford. In the last three games he has been unable to achieve 100 yards passing a game. Has he thrown a handful of good balls? Yes but he’s missed just as many with a good group of receivers and TEs and RBs while being afforded all day to throw and a solid running game. We will have a shot at a few transfer QBs that are not currently known and we will flip someone out there. If we can get Drew to continue to hand the ball off and throw a screen or two and use his feet (it’s the least he can do) and we beat USC he will be third or fourth string next year where he belongs. He has had more than enough chances to show he’s the next Doug Flutie.
He’s not. He’s a tough little guy and seems competent enough to hand the ball off and is improving in the run game. He needs to relish to starting the next 4 games because he will NEVER start again nor will he be coming off the bench. UNC was his zenith and teams have schemes for him and the Clemson game is what he is. As long as he can make a few runs and not run the ball over. Book is WAY better and so is the Stanford QB.
