This is a basic white dude response, but The Secret Life of Walter Mitty was pretty awe-inspiring in theaters.

The scene where he's longboarding in Iceland had me looking up plane tickets in the movie theater.

River runs through it is great but I’d never say it’s a visually stunning movie

It's funny I spotted that blu ray on my shelf yesterday and was thinking about how much better that movie was then it got credit for.

For real tho,…. Movies that fit the ‘It’s on TBS let me sit and watch this mess,…’ thing,… River Runs Through It. I do love that movie

The witch, people in the know said it was one of the best horror flicks in recent years and I genuinely don’t get how. I thought it was a nice looking movie but that’s about it.

The historicity in the first act was amazing to me… seeing how they lived and such. The horror movie aspect was just ok

I watched "I Saw The Devil" this week. It's a Korean psychological thriller featuring Oldboy star Choi Min‑sik, who's always good. Choi plays a sadistic serial killer who murders a woman who's the fiancé of a Korean intelligence operative. He tracks her killer down and exacts his revenge via torture and mind games, though in a hard to believe way. The underlying lesson of the film is that ultimately, revenge is pointless and unsatisfying. Great cinematography, very good cast & acting, and some of the violence was Tarantino level, but the basic idea of the guy's revenge method was a stretch and my only complaint. Overall, a good movie and well worth the watch. I'm starting to really get into Korean films. They're putting out some absolutely top of the line movies and have a solid group of world class actors.

I’m anxious for others to chime in… but wasn’t a huge fan of the direction they went.

I understand WHY they did it. I just didn’t think the execution was good enough to justify their creative ideas.

I’ll wait to say which way I would’ve gone until more people have a chance to see it.

My friends are blowing my phone up about how terrible it was,… I guess they all went together to see it lol

It doesn't come out for another month (Nov. 17th on HBO) but A Christmas Story Christmas looks like it might be a fun watch. A sequel to the 1983 comedy classic, it looks like it will feature all of the original kids from Ralphie to Farkus. It will probably be a typical corny, dopey, Hallmark TV kinda feel-good waste of time without any of the original's humor, but until I watch it and am disappointed, I'm going to hold out hope.
