Listened to an interesting interview with Oregon recruiting analyst Andrew Nemec on local sports radio here in Eugene.

There was a lot there, the main take aways were that its absolutely no secret the Ducks are throwing massive bags of cash at kids, have been for a long time, but now its out in the open and theyre... bigger. Not exactly shocking I know, but it was interesting to hear how big of a part it plays in their recruiting strategy and how they've embraced it.

2nd, and biggest takeaway, is their other open secret is how badly theyre fucking up QB recruiting, bags or not. They've been tripping over their own feet with their messaging really bad, to the point their biggest boosters are stepping in and telling them to get their act together.

He gave examples of how they were publicly saying through social media and the like how "NICO IS OUR GUY!!!" and then when he went to Tennessee it quickly pivoted to "DANTE IS OUR GUY!!!" and quickly to "RASHADA IS OUR GUY!!!"

He said he heard directly from the kids this was really off putting and they hated it, and Oregon's whole pitch outside of the money just isn't working. (According to him, they had no shot with Dante)

Anyway... just interesting stuff. Sorry if this is a bad place to post the info, but it had to do with Dante at least partly so I figured why not?

Totally. It was really a great interview, pretty long form for an AM radio show. I'd highly recommend it. 1280 The Fan. Out of Portland. I think they archive for podcasts.

This, yeah, but to this day I can’t even watch “Little Giants” with my kids without wanting to go vomit and/or throw my remote across the room…

Those first two weeks of that season had me seriously thinking wtf are we even doing here? The USF debacle the week before felt like it couldn’t get any lower but boy was I in for a kick in the dick only a week later.

I got up and walked out the door and took a long contemplative stroll. I had to or things in my house were going to get very, very broken
