And now Quinn Ewers, per the Dal;las newspapers, is thinking of skipping his senior season in high school to get started with a bang on NIL!!

Not even one month old.

Eh this isn’t something I’m to concerned about. He only had an English class left and he can do it online. I’d be more worried about a rising senior in Hs getting wrecked by grown ass men.

Looks like the ND OL is up to four products:

BBQ
Pizza
Wipes
and now "Chubbies" some sort of athletic,/leisire shorts.

`1 month in
4 products

and in every picture the OL ALL appear together.

.

Pretty sure this is fake. I wasn't paying super close attention, but I watched the only episode that's out last night and I don't recall anything being said about Meyer or OSU at all. They were too busy making Zeke and Dak look like "Best Buds 4ever".

Chubbies are massive, or at least they were when I was at ND. They were basically part of the male "uniform", especially at the intersection of athletics and preppy apparel.

Also, just saw this: https://dm.reddit.com/r/CFB/comment...or_all_byu_walk_on/?ref=share&ref_source=link

This probably opens up a bunch of loopholes around scholarship limits. The good news is it might mean we won't have to worry as much about staying in the 85 limit if we have a booster willing to pay tuition for someone to be taken off scholarship. If we're smart about it and find the right situation where financial aid can pay down a large percentage of the bill, it wouldn't even be asking for much.

It's great but this also has the potential for spiraling out if control. Will teams take advantage of this to raise the scholarship limit? Can you ask a fringe player to take a walk on spot and front them their tuition money now through NIL deals? Or even bigger names?

Yep. It's a feel good story for those walkons, but it's basically just a license for greyshirting 3.0, where you never even need to pretend to get the kid a scholarship.

That BYU slope is slippery AF.

How much is BK costing Coan by not naming him the starter already?

So something interesting I just read about that BYU deal. Apparently its not just players promoting on social media and making event appearances, but also the players wearing a decal for the company on their helmets during practice. I wonder if this is the first step to the NASCAR-ization of practice uniforms. If that is the case, having more practice highlights and post-practice interviews will probably be advantageous. It could also help build out Fighting Irish TV for the athletic department if they put more highlights from closed practices on there. Build more fan support, build up the FITV app, and help the players get some more money.

Maybe the jersey, but I don't see anything going on the gold helmets. I can see other schools doing a small decal on the back of the helmet.

a friend in Pennsylvania claims... that college football began selling out when the Nike swoosh began appearing on the Penn State jerseys.

Is he correct? Were they the first?..

So crazy that they are throwing money at a kid who has just started practicing as a college player. GT Sports better hope he doesn't bust and transfer down (a la Blake Barnett).

I think we are going to look back on NIL 5 to 10 years from now and realize stuff like this wasn’t necessarily good for the sport, I don’t blame guys for getting paid but I can see some high level guys that were sure things flame out due to distractions. That already happens a lot but I just don’t see this being good for the sport overall

I don't believe any ND players have really struck it "big". If this shit is going to continue, some of these kids who are of the fence between ND and these elites, how do you not take the money? Dudes are making 7 figure + and brand new 60k+ vehicles. All I've seen is KH getting a deal with Rhoback. Haven't seen anyone with big companies or partnerships.
