I bet SC wanted Duarte badly. My endgame is I made a smart-ass remark directed at no one in particular and got jumped by several posters then felt the need to defend my position. It's really not that big of a deal. We can have a reasonable debate without being assholes. It's not like we're Michigan fans.

The point is, under your logic, there is no such thing as a "pipeline" school. So, you were most likely trolling, which, by now you should be aware is frowned upon and not tolerated. Or you forgot the italics. Considering that you have tried to defend your original post, I would assume it wasn't sarcasm. Therefore, once again, trolling is frowned up and not tolerated.

I'm not trolling. Who has ND offered from BG and been the perceived leader from that point at BG besides Fertitta?

Going back to Stanley's class...

2012 Class:
Ronnie Stanley - ND offer - Irish

3 others went D-1. Duke and two to UNLV.

2013 Class:
No offers to BG kids

5 kids went D-1. Arizona, Colorado State, Fresno State, Duke and Navy.

2014 Class:
Nathan Starks: ND offer, then offer was pulled. Transferred high schools his senior year, signed with UCLA. Notre Dame finished in his top group and the ND staff toyed with reoffering him.

3 kids went D-1. Nebraska, Arizona Sate and Kent State

2015 Class:
Alizé Jones: ND offer - Irish
Nicco Fertitta: ND offer - Irish
Cordell Broadus: ND offer - UCLA but decided not to play football

3 others went D-1 to Army, Fresno State and Nebraska.

2016 Class:
No offers for BG kids

2 D-1 commits, both headed to UNLV.

2017 Class:
Haskell Garrett: ND offer - Notre Dame leads.

So in the last 6 recruiting classes, Notre Dame has missed one kid in Broadus and one is a wait and see with Garrett that held ND offers. That's a pretty good track record, which would be considered a pipeline. When you hear a kid gets offered by Notre Dame from Gorman, you know there's a pretty good shot that kid is going to have Notre Dame immediately in his Top group.

the thing about BG is that a ton of their players are Southern California natives who transfer to BG to play football. (Tate Martell et al.) Often they will have ties to UCLA, USC etc from growing up there

I give up. You guys win. Merry Christmas.

Wait, you win. Happy New Years.

Seriously though, I see where you're coming from, I just don't agree. I view a pipeline a little differently. With that being said, I don't think ND has reached a point with BG where their stud recruits are expected to go to ND. ND has certainly done well there recently but in the eyes of the national recruiting analysts, we've not hit that point.

I hope the Irish offer because that will mean besides obviously valuing his abilities that they'll have a near 100% chance of signing him based on past offering history.

Let's not forget, a lot of insiders speculated that even Snoop Pup would have gone Irish had the offer still been on the table at the end.

Something might be up in this recruitment. There were a few offers recently and one of his old coaches at SC is now the DB coach at Louisville. There are also a few crumbs present that may point to contact.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is some ND related action here. He's worth an offer all day long and you'd have to guess his camp has had plenty exposure to ND through the current BG players at ND.

He said SC was his dream offer but maybe the non-stop drama has shaded the shine of Tinseltown?

The pipeline stuff is (slightly?) relevant, so I tried to keep those posts.

I can't believe the rest stayed up as long as it did haha.

Also, I kept this because it was flawless Ron Burgundy execution:

Still wish ND would make a run at him. His Mom has made some trips with Ronnie Stanley's mom to ND so she knows the routine. Now he's taking other visits, he's been tearing it up in the off season. He's at Bishop Gorman. If Harbaugh was our coach she'd be an executive assistant to the staff or staff relations /scheduling coordinator for the UFC. There's always room on the Gulfstream for family!

It's worth a try IMO.

ISD was very impressed by him at The Opening. Not sure if ND will get a real shake here but, we'll see.
